Mix is not in the 18 today. I am hearing this is not injury related but rather a coaching decision from Pep
Well, the FA office hasn't been open to receive his ITC since this was announced. Gotta have the paperwork in order first.
I don't mean to pick on Mix. He's a decent player in the right system. But singing for a club that has zero interest in you or your future is ludicrous. Man City signing Mix to help the league of its affiliate team in NY clear the books is everything that is wrong about both the way Man City operates and the archaic player transfer rules that MLS seems to want to move beyond. This move just looks bad from so many viewpoints.
Check the last paragraph. Doesn't sound very serious about any possibility that may exist: Diskerud belongs to Manchester City - can still end up with IFK Göteborg Published: 2018-01-28 01:56 Allsvenskan IFK Göteborg confirms that Mix Diskerud now belongs to Manchester City, but a new loan is not/not yet ruled out. On Saturday, Umbro agreed that Mix Diskerud signed a 4.5-year contract with Manchester City. Now, Mats Gren, sports director at IFK Göteborg, confirms that he is now a midfielder for the English big club. "I knew they would move him (Diskerud) from New York City to Manchester City. It's easier to get away from MLS - which is a complicated system - that way. Now he has moved within the City Group," he says. Blåvit [an IFK nickname] hope to still recover Diskerud. "Yes, it's true, but we cannot afford to buy Mix, it has never been realistic. There have been loans that apply all the time, " Gren told Sportbladet. At the present time, however, it is unclear how likely it is to happen "I don't know. Mix will tell me what's happening. I may have received a message from him. I'll check" said Gren to Sportbladet.
Looks like they also have the "first come, first served" mentality. Even a very cheap ManCity player must be expensive to Scandinavian clubs.
So is an expensive MLS palyer. $750k a year is a lot in MLS; it's very high for Sweden which, apparently, has average salaries a bit lower than MLS does. If he wants a move, he's going to have to take a pay cut.
No City group will buy down his contract if they can find somebody who is willing to take him for some of his wages. The transfer/buyout was just a write off from NYCFC to City Group. They knew when they did it that there were no takers for him at what MLS was asking.
Next move: I've been practising my game - trying to perfect my highest possible braintwisting ability. So, I'm ready for a rematch. And this time my opposition will agree to a format where we actually combine play with a running beep test. https://www.nrk.no/video/PS*102484 Opposition's last move was in The Netherlands, btw.
I used to love chess, I even got my certification back when chicken had teeth. But since computers have managed to rout the strongest humans (mid of the 00s), I just don't find the same satisfaction in it. That Stockfish on my Gentoo i7 machine can wipe the floor with me without even getting warm is humiliating.
Mix should consider himself very lucky. New 4.5 year deal basically sets him for his career if he just wants to be reserve team practice fodder, or take a series of loans Wonder if garber will tout MLS to man city!
That's why I quit running. Once that Iron Horse could out dash me, I picked up my smithin' tools and burned down the shed!
You mean you coached him at Wijk aan Zee? That's why he is winning again. How is Magnus on a soccer field btw?
A real American would be practicing, not practising. Just sayin’. Good luck. Is fashion part of your post career planning?
That goes without saying. A player is under no legal obligation to go anywhere unless his contract is honoured - in full. In these situations, a settlement is negotiated (circa 50% of what's due IIRC, though it can be more) and the player takes a paycut on his new contract. Between the settlement, his new contract and the signing-on fee, a player with leverage or good advisors can get all/almost all of what was outstanding. Mix has both in abundance.
One of NYC FC's more, shall we say, regular players has made a similar switch. Jack Harrison joined City and was immediately loaned out to promotion chasers Middlesborough. Not sure whether playing under Tony Pulis will suit him, but he'll learn a hell of a lot about a team being organized and hard to beat.
I'm surprised he hasn't had interest from Belgium or the Netherlands. Why didn't NYCFC try to loan him there?
Cause it is probably up to Mix and his agent to find a team and situation. The purchase from NYFC just makes it easier by removing MLS from the equation
Belgium and Netherlands are the leagues #9 and #13 in Europe, Sweden is #22. Basically you have to look ace in Sweden to get a promotion to either of those.
