Mike Grella: The new star (*) at S********thorpe

Hard to know if this is a good or bad move for him. Little news on the guy. But for sure League 1 is his niche right?

 

Any move is a good move at this point, he's not playing. He seems to wear out his welcome pretty fast so don't get your hopes up even if it does go through.

Presumably intending to return to the US as his registration cannot be transferred inside Europe now until July 1st.

 

He could also go to Scandinavia.

 

Grella signs through the end of this season with Bury Football Club. League 1, currently 14th out of 24 teams. He gets the #14 shirt and is expected to be with the squad for the next match on Tuesday vs. #11 Hartlepool United.

This dude just bounces around from club to club in the League 1. I don't get why he doesn't try his hand at clubs in Scandinavia or Austria or Switzerland.

 

You can only go where you have offers. I'm not sure that the typical Swiss club scouts bench players in League One very heavily.

He played 18 minutes in a 1-2 loss today.

 

I've heard he missed a funny sitter today - "took on 4 defenders, went around the keeper and then fell over" as it was described to me

Grella scored today as he went the distance in a 1-0 home win against AFC Bournemouth.

 

Well that's some good news out of him. I have had (and am still holding onto) higher hopes for Mike. Hopefully he can get his apparently massive ego under control and play the game like he knows how.

 

That's two weeks in a row that he's scored a goal. Plus, this was a highly important goal and win in their fight against relegation.

 

Grella bagged a brace yesterday as Bury secured their place in League 1 for next season. His mini scoring streak has been crucial.

 

Good news for Mike, maybe his career abroad isn't dead and buried yet..

On Sky Sports today on their ticker it said that Mike left Bury and has signed for an unnamed club.

 

Some speculation that it's Preston North End.
