    I want to say he's a starter.

This guy has not been good at all for Palmeiras. So much so that they signed Deyveron, a guy who's played for many low end La Liga sides.

He (Deyverson) has played the whole 90 in Palmeiras' last 3 games and scored a couple goals.

    Not encouraging.
Still our best option at #9 Striker behind Falcao though. He was solid in Quito.

His match against Chile was awful, though. And he was in the form of his life then.

The guy's work rate and stamina is already questionable; he needs to play for his club to stick.

I give him a pass for Chile since the whole team did not play well then and having Berrio out there instead of Cuadrado was like having a hamburger slider instead of a steak.

I hope he improves but I am not that worried if he has to play for us later on this month.

He definitely has NT quality. His being the best option at 9 after Falcao, however, is questionable. Not playing for his club doesn't help at all, just like with any other player.

Well , we have to look at things within context.
The current context is Borja was solid in our last Qualifier. Right now I can't see another #9 option better than him. Maybe that can change within the next 3 weeks or so but I doubt Bacca or Zapata will show us during that time they are better options.

The sad thing is that after 4 years

Our 2 best guys there are still the same bunch and in the same order:

    1. Falcao
    2 . Teo
    3. Muriel
    4. Bacca
And even reduced without Jackson and ramos

The generational shift has not been very fluid at all. I feel like constantly playing with only 1 striker emphasized that. We kept sticking with Bacca through and through. Muriel would be higher on that depth chart if he wasn't always just used on the wing.

I have hope for this upcoming season. Borre will be playing for a huge team and Libertadores. I see him as the next Teo. Estupinan has had a pretty decent preseason for Guimaraes. Palmeiras has advanced in Libertadores so Borja will have plenty more chances.

He means according to Pekerman. Considering Muriel always plays on the wing and wasn't used at all in recent qualifiers, Pepino is not wrong.

Muriel have scored one goal in his 5 years of NT. Despite the given chances

You can't pretend that he is so high in our roster of options by the coach

Bien por el man. Tenia bastante tiempo sin hacer gol, claro que el tecnico lo tenia super zafado. Ojala este sea el primero de muchos.

Borja is a huge Junior fan, it would not surprise me if he ended up there. He could replace Ovelar when he leaves.

Junior in 1 year will suck. They will sell Chara for sure and prob try to get rid of Teos wages sooner then later. They do a big Gesture to get fans back to the stadium then the owners stops giving a shit for 2-3 years again.

Hope he doesn’t run back to Colombia. He already did it from Italy then Argentina where he failed because he was young. He needs to try to move to a new team in Brazil. Flamego would be my top choice for him with Rueda back as his coach.

Young Colombian players need to grow balls and stop running back to mommy when things get tough

I am hearing a lot of rumors that Borja may return to Nacional in some sort of loan deal or something during the next Winter Transfer period.

Would be great for him and for National really. He was arguably the best #9 they have had in many years. And he obviously needs playing time in order to show that he belongs in Russia.

I hope it happens and it is not just smoke.

He was wanted in Europe in the summer. He cost the Brazilian team 10 million which Nacional can’t pay nor does Nacional have the players for a swap.

His value will not increase at all by playing on loan at Nacional for 6 months or even making the NT for the WC where he won’t start.

His best shot at the WC and for his team to not loss most the money they invested is to loan him to Flamengo. Have Rueda fix him again

Or trade him to Junior for Chara.
