What a player and what a caballero (gentleman) - on and off the field. Idol of Zidane and great friend to Chris Waddle when the Geordie lad's chronic homesickness threatened to scupper his settling in France. To me, a suburban Irish kid, he brought a touch of Latin glamour and menace to the field; a matador crossed with a ballet dancer. Principe y Rey! And just for River Plate fans
Enzo is an all time hero. Thanks for the videos and allowing me to relive them. My all time favorite player. BTW he is our director of football, so if you love enzo, you should still support river!
@The Irish Rover Another of my favorites is Jose Marcelo Salas. You weren't a child in the 90s if you didn't shout in your back yard while shooting on goal "salas y river campeon salas y river campeon RIVER CAMPEON RIVER CAMPEON
Hoyos just came to start the 2nd half vs. River. you can watch the game live on futbolparatodos.com.ar River is up 2-0
River won 4-1 And Hoyos was really awful. He had one shot near the end that went waaaayyy wide and over and he had a chance to run onto a pass but just sort of gave up and let our goalkeeper clear it away. Sadly, I don't think Michael is a very good player he's not a pibe anymore as we say in Argentina and he's really done nothing with his career. Hopefully he can establish himself in Sarmiento's first team but i don't really see it
Thanks for the analysis. Hopefully he can get better as the season goes on, he's clearly not used to playing teams that flow as well as River.
Hoyos got 20 min last weekend. Sarmiento is in 25th place, out of 30. Will klinsmann start watching? http://us.soccerway.com/matches/201...atletico-sarmiento/newell-s-old-boys/1978219/
I wonder if hoyos is better than Ibarra....we know he plays in a far better league. Is he on jurgens radar?
Sarmiento is in 15th place (out of 3o) after 7 matches played. Hoyos has only played 138 minutes though. http://us.soccerway.com/players/michael-hoyos/110202/
Sarmiento went up 1- with a penalty against Belgrano. Michael is on the bench. 138 minutes isn't much, but he only got 156 in all of last season so he's making more progress
What's up with everyone's favorite yank abroad who no one has ever seen play? He's currently playing for Santamarina in the Argentinian second division, and the team is in second place (a promotion playoff spot). He's started two games for them, last one on July 13: http://us.soccerway.com/matches/201...antamarina/club-atletico-boca-unidos/2033218/ Same with his brother, Michael should come back to MLS.
Hoyos has scored twice in the Argentine Prima B this season. Anyone able to find vids of the goals? His team lost in the promotion playoff finals on aggregate. So when is MLS going to offer this guy a contract? http://us.soccerway.com/national/argentina/prim-b-nacional/2015/s11202/final-stages/ http://us.soccerway.com/players/michael-hoyos/110202/
I've been gone since the summer. The funny thing is that your Hoyas love was one thing I was pretty confident I'd come across upon my return. Guess I was correct!
Hoyos close to re-signing with CD Santamarina de Tandil. Thread title change? Hoyos at Santamarina? https://translate.google.com/transl...rina-tandil/arranca-de-cero/88110&prev=search

It's time for another episode of.....Michael Hoyos, USA future-star! Michael is now playing for Boca Unidos in the Prima B league, where it is in third place. He has two goals over 12 games (6 of them starts). http://us.soccerway.com/players/michael-hoyos/110202/ Michael - please come to MLS and show the nay-sayers what you are made of.
