Edwards is the guy who Rodgers royally slagged off in the press after he was sacked, via some none too subtle leaks to sympathetic journalists. It's curious that we haven't had to endure incessant bleating in the media about our so called 'transfer committee' since Klopp was appointed.
No snide leaks whatsoever. Talking of transfers and committees, I still shudder to think Rodgers actually wanted Dempsey in exchange for Henderson and £5 million. Good coach, maybe, but rather ordinary at spotting talent.
Seems to me like Klopp wants to introduce mainland structures: away from a "one manager to rule it all" model to a sport director/coach model
Much more sustainable. Allows you to put in place a system/style and keep it in place regardless of manager. Have a look at a club like Southampton - they have a strong team in place that have put in place a system that allows them to plan for the long term and slot in managers that can be successful without huge turnovers in player personnel with every new manager.
From a Daily Mail article published after Rodgers's firing: That article suggests, among other things, that signing Firmino was a mistake. I suspect we all feel differently now.

Nope. But the current interim ceo has changed the work language to English anyways. Round of dismissals and resignations inclusive
Good. Thanks for the commercial deals but the transfers were bit underwhelming. We really need a new regime in place before the summer. And hopefully the first target will not be Manolo Gabbiadini
