Well, this won't be easy. It's not playing some Dutch semi-pro tea... oh wait.

Well, if they put together another game like this weekend it should be a good game.

  3. Hope he will be able to play, but Serero is having problems with his achilles heel.

    .

After facing KJHuntelaar last weekend, Immobile last EL match, he now faces Mario Ballotelli.
You could do worse as a test for you defensive qualities.
Never a dull moment when you're in a European cup fighting team.

That's too bad. Vitesse seem a different team with Serero on the field.

    No JOB jinx here.

Good couple of weeks of footie for MM

Planes, buses and more buses. A shockingly exciting video of Vitesse getting onto and off of various modes of transportation on their way to Nice.

Interview with MM at around 1:25. He's getting a bit of press lately - certainly in club-promoted fluff pieces.

  6. YUP, Serero is described by coach Fraser in this piece as being in the oulier class. He talks about defensive flaws in the non quoted parts.
    https://www.voetbalprimeur.nl/nieuw...e-nog-jaren-plezier-aan-hem-kan-beleven-.html

I finally watched the full Ajax game and while Matt had a lot of very good play and Vitesse was really well organized, twice in the late going Matt was too far off his mark in the box around the 6 - once it was Dolberg, can't recall who it was the second time - and both times the players got free touches to crosses that hit woodwork/came close.

MM has to be tighter to the player in both those situations.

Vitesse's counter was dangerous. They are... fittingly... pretty fast with space in front of them. Serero is very clever. They will miss him. The drop/difference from Serero to vdW in the midfield is like swapping Pulisic (ok, not quite, but...) for Rastaman

Matt with defensive header on a corner. Decent clearance.

Matt seems to vocally be leading the backline...in terms of coordinated movement/offsides trap.

As we speak Balotelli gets a yellow for an attempted hand of god.

MM aggressively driving ball into space up the left side into attacking third. then delivers decent ball centrally to forward...

He wasn't involved. The goal came from the other side, it had a great degree of difficulty to get it just right and score.

So far, MM looks very solid. The speed of play has been of a high level.

I have watched a lot of MM as a RBNY STH and just watching him these past 15 minutes he looks confident.

    Matt is 5.

Nice player just went coast to coast and made it 2-0. Matt was defending at the end when guy took the shot. Shares some responsiblity. Would like to se eit again.

#5 I think. Should've done a better job of defending on that last goal.

    He is number 5.

He just got beat for a score. It was on a counter 1-1 against a speedster he wasn't beaten by speed but the winger gave him a stop-n-go move just enough to get his shot off from about 18 yards and it barely hit the inside of the far post.

Bad giveaway in midfield leads to Miazga being isolated against a Nice attacker on the counter. He stayed with the guy and forced him into a pretty tough angled shot to the far post. Unfortunately, the guy pulled it off.

Also, Miazga conceded the corner kick on which Nice scored its first goal. It's been a rough first half for him to be honest.
