But does the current FCTB group have the goal of moving to MLS someday? That's an honest question, I haven't heard anything of that sort. I don't think Traffic will be an obstacle to any future South Florida MLS team. I think they'll either fold up/move the NASL team or join the MLS ownership. I think they'd be happy to just keep their stake in NASL and their new academy complex(if they get the green light to buy Ft. Lauderdale Stadium), since all they really care about is the business of buying/selling players, not the day to day operation of a pro team. The only problem they could cause is holding the Ft. Lauderdale/Miami Strikers name hostage since they now own the rights to it, if a new MLS team wanted to use it.
Well the FCTB group does have the Steinbrenner's onboard so that's always a plus and they have plans for a stadium in downtown Tampa. We just have to wait to see who will be the owner groups for the 20th team.
A valid question. However, even if MLS were the end game for this ownership group they aren't going to talk much about that openly until the time is right. It wouldn't sit well with the NASL and you want to build fan loyalty for the team you have in the league they are in now. Rather than risking creating a "wait and see" effect, where fans might not come out to support a D2 team if they might get MLS soon. Traffic could be a real problem for MLS trying to expand back into Miami/Ft. Lauderdale if they decide they are happy with their NASL status and fight for that turf. They don't seem like an organization that MLS would want to have involved in running one of their franchises and if Traffic really do invest the kind of money they are talking about investing into Ft. Lauderdale then it raises big question marks. IMO the area is large enough to support both MLS and a D2 team, especially if Traffic are truly happy with 1k crowds. But I don't think MLS would be happy with that set up, especially when at an any time Traffic could decide to push marketing and take a chunk out of the MLS team's market share. This blows. Traffic sucks and they own the rights to one of the other great names in US soccer history. Cluster******** imo
soccer broadcasters making fun of Miami FC: 8:00 http://c0524932.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com/KG-05-17-10.mp3
I can't believe this, is Miami giving up on D2? What the hell is this: http://www.mlsmiamibid.com/ The Ultras are grasping at straws because they know MLS is fading away.
Nobody is giving up on D2. The Ultras will all be there Saturday for the MFC game. We are making an effort to bring MLS to Miami, in addition to supporting Miami FC. We may not be big in terms of numbers yet, but we can't sit on our hands and let MLS pass us by. Team 20 might be the last for awhile and we don't want to simply watch it go to someplace else. You can't say we aren't trying. We support Miami FC 110% but we also want the best, which is MLS, back. If Traffic isn't going to deliver, or even try for MLS, we have to work both sides of the coin.
First you need a committed owner and a plan for a SSS. Out of all the D2 supporter groups the Miami supporters are the only ones so desperate to have MLS that the support for D2 is dwindling. It's also ironic that Miami has the worst attendance in D2, yet the supporters are launching a campaign for MLS.
Wow soccer broadcasters? or Tampa braodcasters? obviously they going to talk crapt, sadly there show is whack... Kick in the grass? I almost fell asleep listening to those guys...
After i read this: I have no respect for Miami and i hope they never get a team in MLS That is the case in Miami/South Florida. There are thousands and thousands and thousands of soccer lovers. It is the "Gateway to the Americas", and has one of the largest if not the largest latin community in the USA. They want top tier soccer, not "crappy" D2 soccer! A lot of soccer fans in Miami/South Florida are literally boycotting D2 soccer and could care less about it, which is in a way counter productive. To their efforts of gaining a MLS team. Granted a lot of people from South America and Europe are faithful fans to their team back home.

lol miami "fans" I know you've seen their crazy MLS campaign. They are badgering every soccer related person on twitter that they can think of. I'd file a complaint for harassment if I were Don Garber.
Congrats Miami FC! watched it online from Dubai F U TAMPON BAY POOPIES! Heart is still with Miami FC!
Potential bonus rivalry game! If Miami FC and FCTB can win their first round USOC matches, they are set to meet in the second round of the cup for the chance to play a MLS opponent!
We have a game vs the Craze on Tuesday, then a game the next day Wednesday! Not good. Pretty sure we will have a reserve team on Tuesday which might mean we will lose... Not good.
LMAO!!! That's so lame. I mean Hotshot is lame too but c'mon a sock?! Ha! Where's the old goofy ass Ralph with the mustache lol?
