i had orlandosoccer.net, but it kind of got screwed up and i haven't updated it for a while. did i send you the info for that whitestar?
If you need any help with the website let me know. As much as I am pro Miami, I also want the best for all of Florida. The more teams in the state the better in my opinion. Rivalries are healthy.
So where would the Miami team play in Ft. Lauderdale like the Fusion or somewhere near downtown Miami?
Little Havana at the OB site is what we are all hoping for. Broward county is out. MLS feels that the problem with the Fusion was its' location.
well, its all yours, freewebs.com you have the username and password? just put whatever you'd like on
Here is a link from the Orlando Sentinel Soccer Blogs called "The Other Football". It mentions Miami's hopes for an MLS team and The supporters website! http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/sports_soccerblog/2008/02/florida-needs-a.html Everyone should check it out!
Miami we should call Orlando Alzugaray at WQAM 56 weekdays from 5-7 in the morning and works some weekend shows and talk about Miami MLS. Lets get the word out we need to let everyone know we want MLS in Miami. You never know who is lessening to the show. Orlando is a big soccer fan and he know about our Miami Ultras supporters club. We want to see MLS in Miami 2011. www.miamisoccerfan.com
There is a new podcast up on www.miamisoccerfan.com with interviews with ex-fusion players and also Fernando Clavijo. Plus some MLS Miami and Miami FC talk. Check it out. Look for this on the home page.
Would ex Fusion owner Ken Horowitz be interested in being part of a an investor group for the Miami MLS expansion team?
Only if he is a minority owner. Bottom line I guess, is that I'll take anybody with a bag full of money.
Horror Witz! OMG! Sounds like a bad dream. Personally, I'm going to stick with the one team we do have NOW. I was actualy hoping that eventualy some day USL/MLS would make one consortium and be a larger league with relegation etc.
That's the thing: If Fusion and Mutiny were playing in Europe the teams would never fold they would be relegated due to financial problems, but MLS decided to make them not exist
Hey South Florida soccer fans we need to call Orlando Alzugaray, Joe Rose at WQAM 560and talk about Miami MLS and Miami FC. It is that important that soccer get attention and is our chance to be heard. Lets bug them about soccer.
might not be a bad idea to write to some national soccer publications, or newspapers (think you guys already have to miami paper), to get the word out more.
Yes, I agree. We need fans to get involve and not to sit down and do nothing. Call the sport shows, email commissioner Garber,Mayor Diaz, local and national media and even Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria, some rumors going around he could become part of an MLS ownership group.
That's definitely the way to go. Take the initiative. Another tactic you might try is to schedule a couple road trips to MLS games in other cities. Obviously you can't do it as often as the SoB up in Philly could due to geographic issues, but if you make the trip to the right games, it could still have the same kind of effect. Just out of curiousity, which MLS city is the nearest?
Well, if y'all do try to make a Dynamo game, I'd aim for one of the ESPN broadcasted games if you can. Dynamo plays New England on June 12, and FC Dallas (major rivalry game) on June 26. Both are thursdays, so it might be tough to round up people for a trip. Be prepared to sweat too, because even though the games will be at night, it's still gonna be hotter than hell outside. Also, DC might be close enough to make a trip to. Just something to think about.
