Exactly right. I could give shit about the result, them young kids impressed me. The old and busted Liga MX players like Chaka, Ayala, Elias, should never see the NT and neither should Pulido until he starts playing again. The rest of the vets were okay but it was the young dudes who impressed. They played like the shirt meant something and that's the way it should be.
Alternative to what? Also to my knowledge there are only a handful of Brasil teams that are incredibly rich. They also have and make better players, who play in better competitions and for whom (for better or worse) Euro teams are willing to pay more money. Our players for the most part aren't going to the clubs that the top Brasil players are transferring to. Even among wealthy leagues there are huge disparities in money between the top teams and the rest.
Brazilian players transfer straight to big clubs now but before they used to take the same route others did. Both Romario and Ronaldo went thru the Erevidise. Ronaldinho went thru PSG when it wasn't the same PSG. As Mexican players become a better commodity, they will go straight thru the big teams. And there are only a handful of incredibly rich teams in Brazil, but so are there in Mexico. Outside of Monterrey teams and America and maybe Cruz Azul, most clubs aren't money powerhouses in Mexico either.
Then why in the past 3 years (at least), when Mexico goes down a goal, they simply collapse? I’m talking about senior level not youth level btw. Most of our (senior) guys don’t handle pressure well. Osorio played a big part in this but the players should also get the blame too.
I don't know how it used to work so I'll take your word for it and hope this is a sign of better things to come. I'm personally of the belief that a large chunk of Liga MX players would do decent at top Euro league in the mid table teams. We got the passport situation to worry about also.
There's probably more than one reason but at the end of the day, we tend to lose vs better teams. I'd love to find a sport where that isn't the usual case. The general idea behind the "mental midget" rhetoric is that if only we were stronger mentally, we'd win something vs players who are just as motivated but more talented. It's an absurd concept IMO. Almost all players we had in today's squad have won some youth international medal or trophy. They know what it's like to succeed. We just need better players.
I can only imagine... Let me guess Ayala, JDS and Chaka were world class and Morales focused on shitting on Pulido and everyone blamed the youngsters?
Pulido was shit, Jona was shit, Raul, except for the first penalty, was shit, Guti was shit, Elias was shit, and Angulo was shit. Everybody else played more or less ok.
To this team we could also use the help of a healthy Araujo and Montes to make a good shield on the back. HH on the mid would also do great considering his passing abilities to the fast yongsters.
Elías is very good at Liga MX, at least to get call-ups time and time again. Problem is, his game doesn't translate very often to the NT.
I'm not that worried about it since we do have Salcedo. A healthy Araujo and Salcedo are a fine starting CB pair. The problem is quality depth.

I know people are shitting on Angulo for his performance and rightfully so, but how much can we pin it on playing him out of his preferred position against Suárez and co?
While this is true, they are still richer than 90% of South American teams (kinda like the EPL compared to the rest of Europe). That's why you have South American NT players in clubs like Veracruz, Lobos or Queretaro. Some of them pay even better than bottom table LaLiga clubs.
