I was talking about his long lay off with Atlas, not just the NT. And you are correct that he last played March 18th vs Monterrey. So even a longer lay off than I thought.
Yeah I'm remembering it wrong for some reason. I had thought he picked up a knock in the CR game and then came back and played with Atlas a bit and then an injury sidelined him.
The 2012 Away victory in Costa Rica was great. Mexico played one of their best games ever offensively. The rest weren't. The Suriname game in Azteca was the preview to the 2013 game. Mexico had a good 1st half but the 2nd they started their whole "useless with possession and getting killed in counter attacks" thing in Azteca but Suriname wasn't good enough to take advantage of it. Then victory in El Salvador but in a terrible game. The return in Costa Rica was just a normal game in which Costa Rica didn't attack much because they looked to be panicking from their position in the group. Then a terrible game against Suriname that once again only got thru after they fell apart late in the game and then a victory against a totally demoralized El Salvador.
Just shows you how the dominance of our mids and defense shut down Mclean/Christie, who are no push over of players
Suprised Burrito had a good game, I thought he was going to have his bad tackles and get his yellow cards
Nothing against Burrito but Jona or Guardado can replicate what he did vs Ireland. I'd rather they start ahead of him. It is nice to have some depth though.
I don't think anyone has him as a starter, it's just refreshing to see another mid step in with a high motor and good vision
Didn't Jona start in that match as well? Must have forgot because he was completely overshadowed by some Burrito.
Burrito and Jona played great together. Neither was better than other. Only difference is that we expect it from Jona, not from Burrito. That's why we didn't really mention Jona.
Jona had a good game, just like almost everyone else did for Mexico that night, but they were not equal, Burrito clearly had the better game.
Really? I saw Oribe, Chicha and Raul destroying their backline time and time again. The first goal is a clear example of how the game went.
Corona Vela and Raul all scored a goal. Vela created various chances outside those 3 goals . Wasnt even close
