Once the final is over, we need Duenas and Orbelin back asap. Both starters for me at the moment. Duenas is our best RB and I still have yet to see Oberlin and Jona as the 2 CMs in a 3-3-4. It's insane to me we still haven't found a CDM since Osorio's tenure has began. Perhaps Edson Alvarez gets a callup soon.

Nah you can't do that. Just seems unprofessional to rip a leader of the team mid tournament like that. We are in 2017, we got guys like Montes who are good enough to step in now. Add Alvarez & Lianez to the GC roster if available.
Alvarez played great against Germany but stunk against Vanuatu and was just alright against Venezuela. He's on his way to be a great player but people are wrong to think he's going to hit the ground running and be great.
True Who would you call to replace Araujo? Because aside from Moreno, our CB situation is worrisome. Reyes has shown he's not cut out to be a starting CB. We've yet to see Salcedo's current form seeing as how he hasn't played with his club. Alanís will join up with the team but he's also shown to be inconsistent with the NT. And Rafa is already up there in age and is recovering from an injury.
Dam idk how some of you older cats dealt with our lack of quality on the bench or on the reserves back then. Having talents like Montes, Orbelin, Damm and others not be apart of the squad for what ever reason. Yet still have a pretty good bench is crazy. Gotta love it
I don't think he will be replaced. He was just sent back to Torreon to be looked at. The fact that he still hasn't be dropped makes me think that they will try to see if he can make it to the Confederations cup or if he should be dropped so I just think no player is going to be called and they will just keep the players they have. They called up a lot of players and the reason they replaced Corona is because that the only position that they only called up 3.
Back then it really wasn't much an issue because we dominated pretty much everyone. It was only when we reached the World Cup that we'd lay a turd. These days we have more talented players but very few have been able to hold down a spot.

Dueñas is not the best RB Mexico has. He only played that position for Tigres as a stop gap. He rarely, if ever, played there for Mexico even under Piojo. Orbelin and Jona are never going to play together without a holding midfielder behind them and if you haven't noticed, Molina has been Osorio's defensive midfielder for the better part of the last year.
If you look at the players available, it's hard to see how the CB situation is "worrisome". Especially if you think Moreno is ahead of everyone quality wise. He's a very good player for Mexico who has also had some subpar performances that somehow get overlooked. Montes and Alvarez are 20 and under, Salcedo is in his early to mid 20s, Reyes and Araujo are in their mid 20's, Alanis and Moreno are in their late 20s. If need be, you can call up Pereira. You may or may not like some of those players but they are all within the same range of quality at the moment. We literally have no generational gaps when it comes to CBs for the National team, something that was a huge problem in the not so distant past.
