I for one have always believed that Jona should be a starter no questions asked. Dude moves the ball like no other and gives insane passes sometimes too. Now that HH has declined a bit before the confederations, put Jona in and let HH know his playing time is in danger. Perhaps that could light a fire under his ass. On the other hand, I think JCO leaves HH in because of his height due to set pieces and so on.
Just saw the highlights...that first half was absolutely embarassing. I hope Osorio ripped into them. They didn't give a ******** and it showed. I don't get Reyes. Great in Spain, shit with Mexico. It looked like we were lucky not to score more when the starters came in. It's too bad that the depth guys kinda blew it. Memo, the stache has got to go.
Feel bad for Reyes, he looks really bad sometimes, and at this point, it seems like Araujo and also Salcedo will take his spot. If that happens which is starting to happen, he'll forever be a bench player with Mexico. Anyway, Gutierrez is pretty disappoing, guy doesn't move and Elias Hernandez sucks. I hate seeing these "assist" leaders on the NT when they are only good at crossing and even then aren't that good. Peralta is old and it's time to stop calling him. Pulido better start scoring this next year.
Feel like Herrera has always been lethargic but in games that are high intensity I feel like he visibly elevates his play I'll always give him the benefit of a doubt because he ran his heart out in the WC.
Heading up towards the confederations cup, the most worrisome aspect of our team is still the defense.... at the 2014 WC our defense was amongst the best, kind-of funny how things can change so quickly. Our attack and midfield look fine, the defense is what worries me. What's scary though is the retarded brainfarts that come out-of-the-blue such as today and vs Chile. Reyes has to pick it up with the national team, Moreno I feel sometimes has a false sense of confidence (maybe from winning in the eredivisie week in/out, Layun isn't that great of a defender (he's good going forward, though).. tbh one of the few guys I can trust the most is Salcedo and he hasn't even been getting full playing time this season. Hopefully he manages to find a new team leading up towards '18.. we need some stability.
I think Reyes, Moreno and Araujo/Salcedo would all play very well in a 3 man backline. I honestly think that a 3-4-3 on the attack and 5-2-3 on the defense would perfectly fit our players.
