Hire a MLS trained coach, get MLS tactics and MLS results against real sides.

SUM is gonnna SUM and the USSF is going to continue to get dog walked by it’s master.

Bora, our coach for USA1994 used to preach to our guys one simple concept.
What is the most important play in association football?
For months the players could not find the answer leading up to USA1994. Guys might respond with set pieces, playing defense, playing outta the back and so on.
The answer from Bora was the most important play in soccer is "the next play".
A concept that our current crop of players have very little knowledge of.

is there any chance berhalter stops with below average-average players at the heart of both the midfield and attack?

is there any chance he stops demanding we play out of the back?

is there any chance he stops playing people out of position to accomodate lesser players?

is there any chance we replace berhalter before the world cup (after which we will hire yet another american, arena/bradley disciple with the same overemphasis of the bradley/trapp archtype as absolutely necessary)?

i dont think there is any chance of any of those four things happening. this is what we are going to be for at least two and a half more years. at least.

and if any of you feel the need to say im overreacting, saying the sky is falling etc- respectfully- stick it directly up your butt. its been this since day 1. im not surprised at all, it has nothing to do with tonights match.

we are going to waste a generation of players as talented as any weve ever had, at much younger ages (meaning this generation- even if you dont count 2018, will be in prime age range for 3, in a lot of cases 4 world cup cycles).

but for this one we arent going to get any better. there is zero reason to think differently.

Look at how out of position the team is here.

    And where's our DM?

    Don’t question the system.

Egg will get it right after we fail to qualify for the WC again. Just trust the process.

My big worry is the future. This program is going in the wrong direction and has been since at least the start of '17. How is that going to impact recruiting? We've already lost Gonzalez and Alvarez. We now have an emerging group of duals who are coveted by quality programs. What are they thinking when looking at this sh!tshow?

GGG stated it wasn't his job to talk to 15 year olds. Well, it's also not his job to scare away those 15 year old dual nationals.

the fact of the matter is that as long as Jay is in charge GGG is never getting fired. The fix was in then. GB is a snake oil salesman, who thinks he has discovered some secret that the rest of the soccer world has yet to figure out. It is not going to get better. This is the new normal.

Stop going to games. Keep tweeting at the soccer media why they refuse to ask hard questions. Maybe something will change. But short of outright revolt of a group of players this is how things stay. And I can see a senario where we fail to qualify again

Shocker that he referred to legitimate criticism of his piss poor coaching performance as a narrative. What a bum!

We have to hope to play teams that won't buy tickets either, though.

You knew he'd say something to that effect. I predicted "it's all part of the process". It's a ponzi scheme to buy time, and to shield himself from criticism he'll deflect onto the supposedly ignorant American fan from a non-footballing country not getting the plan. Every recent US manager has done this. His version is just milder-mannered.

    to coach the USMNT?

Pathetic that he can't even hold himself accountable. Cmon I don't mind a meek defense of "the process" but this crap where we're all apparently insane to be unhappy with how the team is playing is super discouraging.

    - Tata Martino in 7 career meetings with Gregg Berhalter: 6 wins and a draw, 14 goals scored, 2 conceded

    - Mexico has only trailed for 14 minutes under Martino.

Remember when US Soccer refused to even approach Tata Martino regarding the USMNT coaching job, because “he doesn’t speak English well enough”?

What else did you expect? He's an incompetent.

JK inherited a lot better situation and systematically broke it apart over time with his prejudicial and superficial philosophies. Sarachan maybe came 1/3 of the way in building it back up. Takes time and better execution.

Obviously Berhalter would have gotten a lot better results than this w/ Donovan, Dempsey, Jones, prime Bradley, etc. He just can't keep building it up much like required because of his misfit system, loyalties, and bad player utilization. Marsch could have, and yes while he was still in MLS too.
