nice at least we don't hold that "record", the only other I can think is South Korea, I know for sure they have been playing in all world cups since 86 and only made past the groups twice.
Man I suck at this game, and the funny thing is that even if I the answer right i wouldn't know what to ask..................... shit last guess Marruecos. I could wiki it but that would be too easy.
well then wiki it. most of the questions i ask involve some leg work, but they also tend to slow the thread down because those are the ones that no one tries to answer.
since they raised the number of teams to 32 my guess would be Chile, they made the round of sixteen in 1998.
four. i'd say you have to narrow down which three though from the original post, because hypothetically you could list each roster from the winners and you'd get the last five.
How do you narrow down the French players? They were all on the same team and they were all not born in France.
Maybe he means that Karembeu is from New Caledonia? Though not part of france thats still french territory. (Would a player born in Guam be born in the USA?)
'06 Simeona Perrota (UK) '06 Mauro Camoranesi (Arg) '98 Patrick Vieira (Senegal) '98 Marcel Desailly (Ghana) '82 Claudio Gentile (Libya)
correct. regarding karembeu (born in new caledonia) and thuram (born in guadaloupe), they were born in french overseas departments that are a part of france, part of the eu and are granted french citizenship(at least guadaloupe still does) new caledonia has been moving toward independence the last few decades and will have a referendum to vote for it sometime this decade. so although thuram and karembeu were not born on the mainland, they were still born in france.
What do you mean? New Caledonia is French Territory but it is not an Integral part of France. Whereas I didnt bother pointing out Thuram since he's from Guadeloupe which IS an integral part of France. The difference between Guadeloupe and New Caledonia as relative to France is basically (thought not completely) the same as Hawaii vs. Puerto Rico. People born in PR are US citizens but there is also a separate Puerto Rico Citizenship, same as in New Caledonia. US citizenship would be withdrawn if Puerto Rico were to achieve independence (which is legally possible, as opposed to Hawaiian Independence). Same as in France, Guadeloupe (a Department) is as much a part of France as is Corsica while New Caledonia is a Collectivity with a differing status. New Caledonians have it better than Boricuas though, as their reps to the national assembly actually have a vote. Anyway I agree that both Karembeu and Thuram dont count as they were both "born in france" as far as citizenship is concerned.
Beat me to it! Thuram, no doubt about it. Karembeu , I'm saying there's room to argue... though I wouldnt make the argument myself.
new caledonia has been a special collectivity since 1986. when karembeu was born they were still an overseas territory. not quite an oversea department but not where they're at either.
Still, that's not a Department (which Guadeloupe has been since 46) so the wiggle room's still there.
Only 2 naturalized players have represented Spain at a World Cup. Who were they? (my phrasing is important here)
