I absolutely love reading about this club and hope they get into MLS eventually. This is the way you grow a team.

just for giggles I just sent them a very small check, so they only need $100 million more for MLS

Really glad to see that these new owners are looking at and including the already established lower division club in their plans. Smart move to not alienate a very well supported team.

Co-owner of Detroit City FC Sean Mann was just interviewed and he admitted that they've been approached but that does not necessarily mean that Detroit City FC has been included in the plans...

Nor does it mean they haven't. In my mind, if the MLS investors contacted them it's only positive. They have zero reason to do it if they were just going to bulldoze them.

At this point, it's pretty obvious that bulldozing DCFC would be a massive failure for any team hoping to appeal to Detroit. I mean, they'll still get fans regardless, but alienating Motor City Supporters and Northern Guard would be a huge mistake. You'd lose, what? Like 1,500 people worth of a supporters group?

To be clear though, if DCFC is on board with this and will be involved, I hope it starts with a jump up to USL first. Since there is no pro/rel, I'm not a fan of starting teams from scratch. Let a market prove itself first

Detroit City FC will take to the pitch on Saturday, June 25 in recognition of Freedom House, a Detroit-based nonprofit organization that supports individuals fleeing persecution from around the world.
In support of Freedom House and refugees’ basic human rights and dignity, and in our effort to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment, DCFC players will wear commemorative jerseys for the June 25th match against Dayton Dynamo at Keyworth Stadium.

This week, Detroit City FC begins distributing $107,000 in revenue sharing checks to investors of the first community investment campaign in American sports history.

The payments will be sent to the 492 investors who participated in the grassroots campaign, which raised funds to rehabilitate Detroit City FC’s new home at Keyworth Stadium in Hamtramck, MI. The campaign, which launched on October 29, 2015 and closed on February 15, 2016, was open to Michigan residents through the Michigan MILE legislation.

The club aimed to raise between $400,000 and $750,000 through the campaign. The final amount raised was $725,500, making it the largest campaign of its kind in Michigan history.
