For those who do not know, Captain Nathaniel Lyon captured the St. Louis Arsenal for the Union. After the Civil War, all armaments were sent to Jefferson Barracks and the land of the St. Louis Arsenal was given to the City of St. Louis and Lyon's Park was created. The monument on the crest is the Monument to Lyon in the Park.
not bad, but a little too close to Philly's colors. Kudos on the name and meaning behind it. How about a new revamped St.Louis Stars? Without WalMart as the sponsor. LOL
Stan Kroeneke would never allow the use of Arsenal by another team in a league he is already an owner in... although I have wondered if San Diego Gunners would be a good name, with a more modern military gun in the logo... As for St. Louis, I like the AC StL logo, it's one of the few lower division logos (Stars, Strikers, Cosmos) that fits right in with MLS and doesn't look like arena football (San Antonio) or amateur garbage (Orlando City):
I'm not so sure of that anymore. I once was a believer that Kroenke was the answer, and he could be, but my money is on an unfamiliar source to bring a team to the STL.
