how is he still at Reading? he's too good for that club. i can't believe he hasnt had interest from PL or Bundesliga clubs
I'd disagree that he's too good for Reading, but he's out of contract at the end of the season and he's stated a few times his goal is to play in the Premiership. Now Reading have a fair chance on current form of promotion, so he could realize his goal without moving clubs, otherwise I expect at the end of the season he will chance his arm and see which Premiership clubs are interested in him.
I think he'd be a guy that Reading will feel, if they do get promoted, they don't have to replace. But I don't think that a lot of Prem teams are going to line up and bid a significant amount for him in the off season, enough for Reading to lose a talent that they won't be able to replace like for like with C'ship money.

EPL interest: http://soccer.nbcsports.com/2016/11/23/report-swansea-palace-burnley-after-usmnt-mid-williams/ Williams is out of contract at Reading this summer, and the report claims that Premier League sides Crystal Palace and Burnley are also [along with Swansea] interested in his services.
Well more in the fact that without MacArthur there's no plan B in the midfield and quite frankly Cabaye has been disappointing so someone to push him or at least play competently when he's out would be appreciated. Spurs is my team but Palace is my 2nd. I want them to do better and I think Williams can help with that.
The fact that JK never was able to really integrate this guy into the team, I think says a lot about the poor coaching abilities of JK. Hopefully Williams can impress Arena and do something for us.
Excited to watch the opinions change regarding his national team status when he moves to a low-end/average BPL team. December 2016 - plays for reading in the championship at 27 years old - lukewarm feelings/general indifference to his inclusion/exclusion with the national team January 2017 - plays for Crystal Palace in the BPL at 27 years old - urrrr myyyy gurdddd we have a center mid playing in the BPL whyyy doesn'tttt he start??? Dump Bradley for him.
Reading are sitting 3rd in the table. I cannot see a Williams leaving for a club like Swansea who are serious relegation candidates. It's too risky. He can find himself back in the championship negating a move in the first place. I am not a huge fan of Sean Dyche or Alan Pardew. Burnley is just blah and bland but Palace does have a decent collection of players. If it weren't for Swansea's place in the table I would be all over Williams landing there. Of Dyche, Pardew, and Bradley, I think Bradley could get the most out of Williams. Bradley is the manager I trust. Nonetheless, it doesn't surprise me in the least Williams is gaining interest from BPL clubs. He is one of the best two-way midfielders in the championship.
I'm happy to give Williams some run at CM, but recall his national team appearances were often bad. Like sloppy turnover turned into immediate goal for the opposition bad.
Nice strawman you've built there. Didn't happen with Alfredo Morales. Complaining about hypotheticals is just as annoying.
His mistakes were not the type that can be excused for being played in the wrong CM position. Like when he turned the ball over to the opposition under little or no pressure. And I'm sure Williams himself would tell you he is comfortable as both a 6 or 8 or whatever.

I agree. But, I am going to go ahead and make this point. Its my opinion based on watching almost all of our players over the last 5 years look like absolute crap during some point of their national team career, while playing very well for their club teams. This happened numerous times, and we have a strong amount of evidence that the team was mismanaged and poorly coached, thus affecting our players performances. So I think almost all our players deserve to get a clean slate, because they were so hard, maybe even impossible to truly evaluate. I think Bradley, Jones, Klesjtan, and probably Nagbe are better, maybe even Lletget too, but Williams deserves and probably will get a fair look over by Bruce in the next two years.
