is Dolo going to be ready to go for the netherlands game? im not sure he will. it is something to think about at least as depth, and he doesnt have to worry about being cap tied as its a friendly. We're going to have spector and.....uh....spector for that game. Unless a phantom frank simek call occurs.

Simek is playing right now for Wednesday. He's finally fit again. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets the callup.

And hopefully Alston performs really well against El Salvador.

I've never seen Williams play........so I can't judge whether he's better than those two.

I really liked how Simek was playing before this unfortunate string of injuries. He's a very talented player. But we'll see if he returns to that form. It's probably too late in the cycle for him too.

Bingo. I wouldn't expect a new player to get onto the field for the match, but there's a hole at RB and, to be honest, it makes more sense to call Dan Williams than Marvelle Wynne.

It isn't like this kids has done nothing tio recommend himself- he's played his way into a starters role on a decent BL side. That's a real accomplishment at his age. Seems worth making room for one more on the practice squad if you ask me. What's the downside?

Hes a starting RB in the Bundesliga, holding his own at 20. Cherundolo is injured.

Do the math, the future is the present in this case.

I would call Williams as a practice player for this game similar to how Lichaj was used last year in a WCQ camp.

But given that Bob Bradley likes Lichaj, it wouldn't surprise me if was a practice player too.

Just because I would call Williams doesn't mean I think Bradley should be fired if he doesn't.

Again, Simek and Lichaj would probably get the call ahead of Williams. Both of them have played with Bradley before.

Like I said, I would call Williams too. But if it doesn't happen, fine.

It is very important, however, that USSF maintain contact with Williams to see if he has interest in playing for the USA. That I agree with.

Lichaj wouldn't get the call...where his future loan location already. The suspense!

I would call him into the Netherlands game.. not necessarily that he should play but he should be called.

Not saying he would accept the invite but it would be nice

He only stands a chance of getting a call if Alston doesn't tear it up on the 24th. If he does, Bradley may want to see him with the big boys.

Simek may get the call, but after that, its Williams for sure.

Agree fully -- playing him doesn't really matter (and wouldn't cap-tie him anyway). Seems like a waste not to get him into the camp to get a look at the organization.

Seriously-- what's the downside? It's not like Bob will fail call in someone important to this summer's squad to make room for Dan-- just invite an extra player.

CALL THEM BOTH!!!!!!!! It's not like there's limited space in the lockeroom or limited space at the hotel where the team in playing. IT'S A TRAINING CAMP-- there's always room for one more.

They only get 23 automatic calls. Maybe one team would deny them the opportunity, I mean, if I were Freiburg, I wouldn't chance my new young start getting hurt in a cameo appearance at a NT match.

Other than his recent Bundesliga experience, what do we really know about this guy?

It's not really a camp for the Netherlands game.

Players arrive in Amsterdam on Monday morning. They will probably practice Monday morning then maybe again on Tuesday. The game is on Wednesday.

So there really isn't much of a chance for player evaluation other than the game itself.

Because of the limited time, the roster will only have 18 players or so on it.

I would still call Williams into the roster because he is so close by and because we are so thin right now. I doubt he would see the field but it would still be worthy to call him in.

This assumes he is even willing to play for the USA

Yep. And let the Connection continue. Both Michael Bradley and Jermain Jones should have a 3-way tele conversation with Williams:);).

By the way: Freiburg play their last game before the Netherlands date... at Gladbach, 15 miles to the Dutch border, and I think Michael had time to show his Dad his place. The Black Forest region, where Freiburg is located, is famous for their Vesper tradition (they eat breakfast all day), and the Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte:
