This team is lucky to be finishing 10th at this rate Arsenal worst Goals Conceded per game in the Premier League era:1.42 - 2019/20 Emery1.34 - 2018/19 Emery1.34 - 2017/18 Wenger1.29 - 2011/12 Wenger1.17 -1994/95 Graham/Houston1.16 - 2016/17 Wenger— Orbinho (@Orbinho) November 10, 2019 In the last 19 Premier League games Arsenal have taken 24 points from a possible 57 available.Over a full season that rate would see the Gunners earn 48 points. We'll easily stay up at this rate.— Orbinho (@Orbinho) November 10, 2019
******** this club it’s a shit show from the fans, the the coach, to the players, to the board I have never in my life felt so apathetic to this club. I had no Emotion when Leicester scores yesterday. In fact I made vardy my fantasy captain because I knew we would lose and he would score If we finish top 4 I do t care, if we finish 10th I don’t care this manager is a clown, I tried to back him but the club Won’t sack him
Ha! It was actually a piece of advice I got from a famous UK entrepreneur In his view if you have the bad feeling, it is never too early to sack people. The biggest mistake is trying to make it work. Pretty much the Chelsea approach.
Arsenal bosses “100%” behind Unai Emery, deny considering change or talking to candidates, plan to review in summer. Kroenkes + execs offering full support, won’t react to “noise”, feel results will improve atmos & think #AFC on right path. @TheAthleticUK: https://t.co/rXXrMAtd9a— David Ornstein (@David_Ornstein) November 10, 2019 We suspected this might be the case. Oh well, its going to be a long season.
I think that was a ways back. I can't believe that people buy jerseys or attend matches of a club that continually fail at realistically trying to be competitive. Wenger and Gazidis put the club in very dangerous waters, Emery has run it completely aground
I've said before, as have others, the differing trajectories of the two clubs after the Sanchez signing has been striking. The failure to arrest this downfall all the more alarming. I didn't object to the Emery signing under the notion that measurable performance objectives would surely be applied to whomever they hired. Alas, I've been mistaken.
Does anyone have access to this? And would they mind sharing anything of interest? Great piece on Emery: https://t.co/9Z53rByNL4— Raphael Honigstein💙 (@honigstein) November 9, 2019
For all the talk about victory through harmony, seems like the club's management only reacts when things get "toxic" at the ground.
This is where the "club" mentality artificially inflates the fan base. There are people who are loyal to Arsenal because they still think it's a club and not a corporation. As for who's to blame, it seems everything has gone downhill since Kroenke got involved. It's grown in speed over the past 15 years, but he's the common denominator. I 100% believe that we won't get a new manager because he doesn't want to pay the severance package.
Sad that they are going to keep him for the rest of the year. You get what you hired. What your going to see at home games is a toxic, hostile and constant booing and chants that will be anti-Emery. I see this team currently getting prehaps 50 points maybe less in terms of point total (45 ish) Probably finish 10-14th at this level of play. Then the exodus of talent in the summer will begin.
If Emery isn’t sacked before Christmas i will all but give up on this club. I have followed too long after the writing was on the wall and it was clear the club sold out.
In a nutshell? When Gazidis said he had followed Emery's career closely, he was lying. If he really had, he'd have known about his penchant for playing scared very conservative football -- a penchant that was then branded even more into his psyche with PSG's humiliation at the hands of Barca.
Alan sugar said “I met this bloke from New Zealand living in Germany. I tried to give him advice but he just kept banging on about their rugby setup. I just chinned the Cnut and left.”
I grew to resent gazidis during his time at Arsenal. His leadership and decisions lead us to this point. We were suppose to become a “super club” after the move to the Emirates—instead we’re slowly drifting into midtable mediocrity. Of course, the Kronekes are to blame too. I don’t want to rush to getting a new coach. We should take our time and make the right decision. Firstly, we have to get rid of Emery. It’s too toxic to have him continue as our coach
Thanks yoss. It's an interesting article. I think we are still waiting for the blood to be spilt. So far even Ozil has not leaked against Emery, but we know from past teams that many players don't rate him.
