Story I read sounded like Burgess being let go while Forsythe was staying but in a different (likely elevated) role.
Yeah that's the Ornstein position, Arseblog is saying he's hearing Shad is nearly off to Milan. I guess rumors still but idk
This sounds like more bad news indeed. But do we really think Emery is behind this? Wouldn't this more likely be Raul's doing?
Here's another theory. Perhaps we are finally getting into the soft doping game that everyone else seems to be doing. I could see some straight shooter guys in our performance team not wanting a part in it. I mean after all Raul was heavily involved in Barcelona...
I don't think there is much doubt Emery burned out the players in the lead up to xmas I remember being amazed that he fielded his first team in a pointless beer cup game against spuds instead of nursing his reserves over xmas
Me thinks we need a Raul thread. Or better yet a broader Arsenal Management thread. Sadly, I suspect more and more we're going to be talking about problems with the latter, rather than just Emery's performance, which is what this thread was intended for.
Check the title of this thread. Seems to cover it. We don't need more threads, just chops up and segments the conversation imo
So Ted explained why on the Statsbomb podcast: it's because Meunier has said he wanted to leave, quite publicly, so Ted feels like he can talk about it.
Hmm... I always took this to be a thread about Emery. His name is in said title after all. Beyond that, I saw it as a thread about what standards we set for success, e.g. Top 4 vs Europa vs ... I never saw it as a catch-all thread to talk about our management/coaching staff in general, the demotion of Bould, the firing of Burgess, the abilities of Sanllehi, etc. Perhaps @ArsenalJake should tell us what he had in mind when he made the thread? p.s. And yes, one thing I like about BBS systems like ours is that you can focus and compartmentalize discussions. I find that much more manageable than other social media platforms. So yes, in our forum, I would naturally prefer to see more distinct threads in general. Am I in the minority with that thinking?
Whenever I see this thread at the top I read it as Bendtner and naturally assume he's crashed some duchess' car into his side piece's garage or something. Alas, I then read the thread and its much more disappointing
I dunno, but maybe I'll start a thread for that? [emoji6] Seriously, thanks for the reminder... maybe I'll DVR it. Edit: It was an Interesting game, except how the flow at the very end was destroyed, which is part of the reason I don't watch NBA or NFL any more. I'll take footy any day if the week.
Emery is in parentheses. Arsenal are not. Seems like it might be okay for it to be about the club management in a larger sense. I’ll tell you one thing you are in the minority on: the desire to have you as the arbiter of what is and isn’t acceptable conversation around here.
Burgess was excellent in Australia but he worked with the coaches to make sure players at his teams were properly rotated, something Arsenal over the years (including Wenger era) have a bad habit of not doing. Wouldn't surprise me if he was vocal about players in the "red zone" and gets over looked. Was strong on that at Port Adelaide. He also featured on a reality TV show called the recruit, where he helped the judges for the players trying out for a contract with the performance stuff. Guy is a professional and knows his stuff, so if he is the whipping boy for bad decisions the coaching staff made (like playing the 1st team in the mickey mouse cup) then I will be furious.
Finally listened to this. I know we're overlapping a lot with the transfer thread, but duuuuude, Ted does. not. like. Praet.
