That referee ********er though... he literally gave them all the decisions he could have. The fifth goal was certainly going to happen. And how the ******** did Hetemaj end up finishing the match on the pitch... abysmal. Nice win, though. I thought it would be much more complicated vs that yellow bus.
Looked like a cramp. He didn't look in pain after FT when he was arguing with the ref. Good game, solid performance and a very important save by Alisson to keep Chievo from getting back into the game. Wouldn't mind the same scoreline in the next match.
Schick is finally finding himself and we have a player on our hand. In his last 4 games he put 3 very good performances (was poor in the derby) and managed to score 2 goals. Under lost his place, deservedly so. It should teach him a hard lesson, never take your place for granted. He played a friendly with his NT despite physical problems, and as a result got injured in the most crucial part of the season. Now he has to wait and win his place back. Juan is crap, we need a better 3rd CB this summer. Ninja was phenomenal again, back to his very best.
He did put his hand and pull the player, it was a stupid move. Crap describes his overall performance this season, not just today. As to why he's not good; he's slow, poor at tackling, worse at positioning, commits too many needless fouls, and sucks under pressure.
It was a natural reaction to raise his hand but if you watch he never pulled him back. Var is here but they didn't have the balls to change it. I think he's had some fine performances this season. Thats a real character assassination you have of him. Just a touch over the top. He got sold out by poor tactics in Liverpool but look at his performance against Barca when the tactics suit him. Like any player you can look great in one and weak in another. He might not be the best but he is certainly not as bad as you describe.
Agree with everything here, although maybe a little harsh on JJ. On JJ, he's just woefully inconsistent, coming from the fact that he has some clear limitations. Pretty solid one minute, terrible the next. He has had plenty of playing time this season and it's become fairly clear at this stage that he'll never likely be starter material for us. Regardless, we need to sign another CB anyway. A left-footed one who is comfortable on the ball and can pick a pass would be ideal. JJ as 4th choice is sound enough.
He did have some good games, and I'm always giving him credit when he has one. Against Barca everyone played a crazy game, but if you had to pick the worst Roma player on the day, then its definitely Juan. He started the game by missing an easy tackle on Messi, earning an early yellow and conceding a dangerous freekick. Then he missed some interceptions, but luckily he always had cover. Then came his worst mistake of the night, and nearly ruined the best European performance we've ever had. At the dying minutes, instead of rushing and clearing the ball, he slowed down and let Pique close in on the ball from 30 meters away. Alisson had to make a last second tackle outside the box, and Dembele missed an empty net because of it. Yes, Pique was offside, but that defending in the dying seconds of the game was inexcusable. He won the air duels with Messi(who didn't even challenge) and stayed at his back well enough, knowing he had plenty of cover. We can debate whether he's average or crap, but I think we agree he's nowhere near starting quality, and Fazio is turning 32 soon. If we can't buy someone as good as Manolas or Fazio, then we atleast need someone younger with the potential to reach that level.
Yes, that's the point, he should be sold this summer because his contract cannot be reconciled with his quality, and for a club with our budget and needs we need to use our resources more efficiently.
Courtesy of Juve, it will now be very difficult for us to not make CL for next season. At most, we just need 6 points to guarantee a spot, and even that would require Inter to win all of their final games. With the last one being against Lazio. Lazio have also possibly lost Immobile for the rest of the season.
But if Lazio have secured their CL by the time they play Inter, I am sure Inter would win that game requiring us to win at least 2 more games.
