Zaniolo and Cristante suspended. Forza Caput Mundi Note: They cucked us last game in the 95th minute and were down to 9 men. Don’t forget that. @Hustle and Flow
It will be between him and Kluivert/Under, but I think Ranieri will want to try SES next to Dzeko. I personally prefer 4-2-3-1 with one of Pastore or Coric behind the striker, but I don’t think Ranieri will go for that from the start.
Well SES is, I can't believe I'm saying this, probably our most reliable forward. IMO, he's now a must start in every match
I honestly can't understand the notion on this board of SES being subpar. He has been reliable by not being injured for most of the time, scoring goals, creating assists, supports the defense, pacey plus high work rate and yet he is not appreciated. Other players on the team who contribute less through the season are more appreciated. I really respect SES and I wish Roma can keep him for a long time. We all saw what he did this season and below the highlights of what he did last season for those who forgot his contribution.
SES has battled confidence and consistency problems his entire time at Roma. He'd look great for a game or 2 then disappear for 5 or 6 games. Every player has a bad game or a stretch of bad games but SES was wildly inconsistent. This year he's been pretty damn good all season. I never wanted to get rid of SES, I just didn't think he was consistent enough to be a starter but if he can do this next season I have no problems if he's our starting LW
This has been SES' best season for Roma by quite some distance, imo. Let's not act as if he's played like this the entire time. When the facts change, so can the opinions. He's been madly inconsistent for the majority of his career. My major gripe with SES has always been that we'll never be anything legitimate if he's one of our best players. As you can see, we're not very good, and he might be our best player (or at least attacker) at the moment. In the past, I would've always said I preferred Perotti, but right now, it's not even a debate. It's SES all the way. If this is now his consistent level, then I see no reason why we shouldn't keep him around. I need to see it again next season before I make any grand proclamations, however.
There was such high expectations of him as a young player but he disappeared for years, only showing his worth from game to game during a season expect for two consistent periods in the last 5 or 6 years. His first half season with us and now this year. If Peroti has recovered I would start SES up top as a second striker making runs of Dzeko and get Perotti back on the wing.
