salah will open up the defense- but don't expect him to shoot with accuracy

It was as good as a finish as we could have hoped for IMO.. just unlucky to rebound off the post.

Our corners are rubbish, Might as well just kick it back to the keeper and start again.

Goal for Strootman. Yeeeeeey. If only Salah finished his chance.

Perotti deserved the assist. He and Salah are the only ones with a good performance today.

Honestly, we could have had 3 or 4 goals today.

He was a lucky SoB today. Several times he was caught out of goal and Roma just failed to score.

They didn't wait long at all. Pressure started right afzer the 0:2 and there were enough chances to make 4 or 5 goals. Just lots of bad luck and a poor conversion of chances.

I don't want to hear about that fragile Roma mentality crap. It's a notion that is overplayed and has nothing to do with.

How do you explain how a team, in great form and producing great results, can suddenly produce two poor performances in two consecutive matches? Mainly I would say fatigue is your answer. But also, in my opinion, Spalletti has not managed the squad well this week. I say that mainly because I think he messed up today. Suddenly deciding to send out a back 4 against Napoli was daft.

This period was always going to stretch this squads capabilities. There was always a big question mark over whether they could handle it.

Things started well with good wins over the likes of Torino, Villarreal and Inter but now it has come to a grinding halt.

Positive performance/result against Lyon needed now to stop the rot.

Yep. If we go through against Lyon and are still 2p in front of Napoli at the beginning of the international break in two weeks I think that is something most of us would've taken before this hard period of matches.

I definitely think Spalletti could have managed the fatigue better. Starting with Nainggolan, Dzeko and others against Lazio looks like a mistake now. And we can't rotate for an away Lyon game either. Suddenly I'm not so optimistic for our EL chances.
