Wonder if we see Kluivert from the beginning...

I think Cristante will start as well as N’zonzi in midfield.

Nzonzi likely won't start. He might make an appearance off the bench. The goal is to have him ready for Milan next friday.

We need to play much better against Atalanta. I'd throw out the same lineup, give the guys a chance to gel.

Good thing they have to play an EL qualifier today. Should give us somewhat of an advantage.

I know it's early in the season, but I wouldn't be surprised to see some rotation. I have no idea why we are playing Monday and Friday next week, but I think EDF will take into consideration Friday at Milan when putting together his 11.

Except this is a much harder game. By a distance.

yea, I don't understand that. While we can rotate some players there are a lot we probably still can't rotate.

I think we'll see the same back 4 for some time, especially against the better clubs. JJ is a possibility but other than that I'd expect our back to be the same for both matches.

Perotti is hurt and hasn't been training so it's very unlikely we'll see him against either team. So it will be SES/Under/Kluivert rotation for those matches.

Considering this is a home game and we have a short week with Milan on Friday, I'd go with:

    Atalanta:

    Perotti-----------Schick---------------Under
    -------Strootman---------Cristante-----------
    ---------------------DDR------------------------
    Kolarov--Marcano--Manolas--Karsdorp
    --------------------Olsen------------------------

    Milan:

    SES-----------Dzeko-----------Kluivert
    ----Pellegrini----------Pastore--------
    -----------------Nzonzi-------------------
    Kolarov---Fazio---Manolas-----Florenzi
    -----------------Olsen----------------------

    Doubt we'll see this, however.

Perotti has said it was only a slight knock and he's fine now, so he should be available for selection.

well, since he didn't practice with the team today I'm guessing he's still a bit injured. Even if he's healthy by Monday, I can't see him playing vs Atalanta if he's not been training with the team.

Cristante + Pellegrini in midfield, Pastore in LW.

I think we need to give Pastore every chance to be that creative force in MF. I'm not feeling good about our season is Pastore fails there.

I just hope Atalanta don’t break Pastore during the game.

I refuse to believe Flaco couldn’t do a better job at LW than El Shaarawy though.

Atalanta play with a lot of pace, and they will bring it to us. We need to be ready to press them and burn them on the counter. I actually don’t think Lo Pellegrini would be a bad idea to start this game for that reason.

He looked a lot better there once EDF moved him against Torino, he managed to find a lot of space.

Nzonzi as a sub pleas, because I want to see him boss Milan’s midfield around from minute 1 next Friday.

Thing is I doubt EdF abandons the idea of Pastore as our creative force in the midfield 3 so soon. He might eventually, maybe sooner rather than later, but that would mean that Pastore has sucked in that role.
