5 games in 20 days, not the greatest time for Pellegrini to get injured.

Zaniolo has already asked to come off exhausted at least once this season. Really hoping that Pastore is healthy enough and we can get some rotation between the two of them coming up.

So as far as I can tell the following are out:

    DDR (still)
    Lo Pelle
    Dzeko
    El Sha
    Coric (wouldn't play anyway)

I guess the silver lining is these injuries have opened up opportunities for some individuals to play more and, most importantly, improve. Schick looked better against Inter. Zaniolo looks a real talent and is now getting some good minutes given Lo Pelle's situation. Cristante has undoubtedly improved with regular playing time courtesy of DDR's long absence.

I doubt Perotti/Pastore are ready to (or even should) start yet and I'd give Fazio the nod ahead of JJ (who was poor against Inter). Fazio has been a donkey this season but at least he remains strong in the air in both boxes.

    Olsen

    Florenzi
    Manolas
    Fazio
    Kolarov

    Nzonzi
    Cristante

    Zaniolo

    Under
    Schick
    Kluivert

Time to get embarrassed by Serie C club Virtus Entella in the next round of the Coppa.

Hoping to see more of Zaniolo. Injuries suck but i love seeing the energy and enthusiasm from some of these young guys right now.

So according to EDF, Manolas is 50/50 for this match.

FFS.....do we need to bring back Norman and Lippie?

This season off the top of my head...….

    Very significant lay offs:

    DDR
    Pastore
    Perotti

    Significant lay offs:

Dzeko (don't think he was ever injured before)
    El Sha
    Lo Pelle

    Games missed through injury:

    Manolas
    Kolarov
    Florenzi
    Olsen(!)
    Schick
    …..and so on...…..

    That's a lot. Too much.

Just a little comparison between where we were on this day last season and today.

    08/12/17

    Serie A:

    Pld - 14
    Pts - 34 (11/1/2)
    Goals For/Agst - 27/10

    CL:

Qualified as group winners with 11pts.

    08/12/18

    Serie A:

    Pld - 14
    Pts - 20 (5/5/4)
    Goals For/Agst - 24/18

    CL:

Will qualify in 2nd place with either 9, 10 or 12 pts from a considerably easier group than previous season.

Playing Cagliari in Sardenga. They play great there. They usually batter us there. We managed to win last time via Under’s low driven shot. Not expecting much.

I thought they were treated unfairly, under them we had the least muscular problems. They got blamed for torn ACLs which I doubt they had anything to do with it.

This year our players have been in terrible shape.

Agree. There are certain stretching and exercises that can help strengthen the muscles that support the ACL but there really is nothing you can do to prevent them. Its mostly luck.

It drives me absolutely insane when I see so many guys sucking wind at the end of a match.

    Haven't lost there since 2012.

They're unbeaten at home this season, it's a tricky fixture. I'll stick my neck out though and say we win this and Schick gets on the scoresheet.

Combined age of our front 4 today is 20. First time they've all started together.

This is Schicks match. This will be his 6th straight start there is no more time and no more chances because he'll never get a better run of games than this.

Cant see us keeping them out, they are aggressive at home. I'd take a hard fought 2-1 win.

Nice strike with his weak foot from Cristante. Great buildup as well
