You're building absolutely nothing by benching 34y old DDR who has had these blackouts annually ever since he has played here in the last year of his contract. No team in the world does this to their best DM just because he has slapped someone in his face.

Yeah, would be deserved. But wouldn't change anything and only weaken us short term (without gaining anything long term).

He should be stripped off the armband as a sign (permanently not temporary like last season) but that's enough.

 

We just pissed away 3 pts because of a spastic 34 year old with zero discipline. He deserves to ride the pine for a while. No excuses for that kind of behavior. This is just as stupid as that elbow at WC 06

 

What!?!?!?!?!? Just because he slapped someone? DDR is not that much better than Strootman who you could slide back there or Gonalons.

The point isn't to punish DDR, it's to make a statement to everyone on the team everyone, DDR included, will be held accountable for their play on the field and if you aren't going to do things to help the team you will not play, regardless of the name on your jersey.

That's the point where we disagree. In my opinion DDR is still miles ahead of these two.

 

Yes I believe that was the rumor at one point a few years back. I remember being berated in the threads for even suggesting he be sold and that he will be at Roma for many years to come etc... No one is caring he should stay now and so much for sentiment. That was his 13th straight red card and 15th altogether.

Joking aside, yea he's been a huge disappointment which is surprising considering he played well under EDF. I believe I read we have to buy him but there are conditions. I'm not sure if the conditions are triggered by team or individual milestones.
