Brooks and McKennie are starting. Wright in the bench McKennie has had a a shot blocked and a cross blocked. Caligari scores a PK to lift Schalke ip early 1-0 10th min
McKennie in the number 10 role. Brooks had a big cross field switch which started the sequence leading to a Wolfsburg chance early on.
Anybody else see McKennie seem like he tweaked his groin about minute 15 and he hasn’t been as aggressive.

Schalke need to move Caligari up. He's their best offensive option Halftime Schalke went into their shell after the goal. Wolfsburg struggled in the offensive third. McKennie is not that great further up. Lacking in the final ball (but so is the rest of the team!). Brooks not responsible for the PK. Great keeping the ball moving
McKennie has won the ball in the attacking half a few times and been able to get on the ball in some dangerous places, but I am not sure he completed a forward pass in the first half. I also remember one nice dispossession he had at the top of the Schalke defensive box. Brooks passing has been good and has been fine defensively. Defensively he cut out a McKennie through ball, and Skrzybski got a shot off against him after getting played the ball when Brooks was on the back foot after Schalke broke through on the Wolfsburg right.
That cross... MCKennie gets to endline and lofts a perfect cross, Shalke can finish. Nice backheel a few seconds later.
Great cross by Mckennie from the end line that picks out Uth whose header is saved. McKennie with a nice back heal at the edge of the box to Oczipka, but it comes to nothing.
McKennie does well to win the ball at midfield starting a counter that ends with Weston pulling a volley just wide.
