5’ Schalke go in front 1-0 after a great run and flick from Klono is buried by Embolo

8’ McKennie wins the ball back in the attacking half, but leads to a goal kick. Weston is playing more of an anchor role while Goretzka pushes more into the attack.

18: Weston shows his ability to make a precise forward pass under pressure in his own box!

23’ McKennie has a go from distance but it’s off target. Klono makes a dazzlingly run 30 seconds later to score and make it 2-0. Klono is on Fire [emoji91].

37’ McKennie starts a counter attacking movement and over hits the ball too early for a throw in. He’s had some raw moments in this game.

The field is a swamp and is really degrading the quality of play for both teams.

HT: As mentioned by a few of us, the conditions aren’t the greatest, but it’s been pretty entertaining. Unfortunately, McKennie has not been having one of his best matches. There has a been some errant passing and he’s been slow to show for the ball which has led to him disappearing for stretches. I could see him being a sub candidate for Tedesco, because the coach really wasn’t happy with the turnover that killed the counter attack.

71’ McKennie pounces on a loose ball and dribbles forward. His pass is accurate but is let down by his teammate.

Not that he was terrible in the first half, especially considering the conditions.
