Matthew Taylor at Shelbourne FC (Ireland)

He was with Shels' this season it seems, mostly with the youth setup but on the first-team roster. And apparently triple-eligible for us, Ireland and RSA:

Following on from the success of the U19’s win against Salthill/Devons on Saturday,(a game from which Matthew Taylor was excused), he has gone from Standby, to being called into Paul Doolin’s U19 International Squad for the game against Slovenia tomorrow night, Tuesday 3rd Sept in RSC Waterford.

Matthew is in a very unique position as he can declare for the USA and South Africa, but was delighted to take up the opportunity with the Irish squad.

And -- he did play in the match, which it seems was a tuneup for the U19 UEFA qualifiers. But he came out quickly, so might have been hurt.

It is the final test for Doolin’s side before they take on the European Qualifiers in Sweden. Doolin will however have the possibility of recalling the likes of Manchester City’s Jack Byrne and Celtic’s Eoghan O’Connell for the European qualifiers.
