He could probably get an MLS contract, no? Somewhere with a USL affiliate to bring him back up to speed for a few games would be nice of course, but he wouldn't take long to get to MLS fullback level. RBNY would be perfect since he developed there, but obviously they have Duncan in the way as well as Michael Murillo.

I think Philly would be just as great for him. He'd slot right in and be a good piece for a franchise willing to play guys like him. He's also from there, so it's a match made in heaven.

Might be a better career move to continue with that Oxford degree (not commenting on his soccer ability, but just career prospects, potential salaries, and overall contributions to improve society)

The dude is 21 years old and people are ready to thrown in the towel on this kid? I don't get it. I'm sure he will land somewhere, hopefully stateside, and start to get some games. If not....yeah it might be time to wave the white flag but now it is still too early, IMO.

Red Bull with mostly time II for now seems like the most logical spot. Decent chance Murillo moves in the summer window so if Olosunde can prove himself useful he can get into form with II and then compete with Duncan at RB with the senior team. Always tough to know how good the guys who get lost in an academy transition actually are.

Maybe some other MLS team wants his HG rights via trade now or later but that makes more sense than trying to catch on elsewhere in USLC/1.

Red Bulls seem pretty happy with Duncan, at the moment. Duncan is still rusty from his ACL tear last year, but is improving.

If I am the Red Bulls, I would try to cash in and trade Olosunde's rights. They can probably get decent value for him.

Perhaps with selling Kaku, Murillo, and Olosunde, RBNY can finally make some moves. Hell, they haven't even made any moves to replace Tyler Adams.

He should be able to find a European team at a reasonable level, perhaps even without a trial, given his resume and youth. The lack of games hurts him, though.

Does Rotherham have any sort of developmental track record?

If I’m Olosunde, I’m looking for a place that has a history of coaching up players.

A place like...NYRB. Obviously, no idea if they were interested in bringing him back.

They don't. It's a typical lower-division outfit: squads made up of cast-offs and Bosman journeyman signings that are happy to be drawing a paycheque.

They punch above theit weight due to some good lower-division coaches down the years but - aside from Adam le Fondre - it's hard to think of any young player who moved on to make waves at even Championship level. Glad the lad got a club, but I'm not expecting him to be wearing MNT colours anytime soon.

Given how important education was to him and how ManU worked it out that he could train and go to Oxford at the same time, I hope that continues.

Again, this is not a bash on his football ability, but just a recognition that if he had the talent to graduate from oxford academically, i hope that doesn't get tossed aside as he moves to League One. I hope he can continue to do both

He's a good player. I think he's better than League One level. Hopefully he shows that.
