Started today and made his 2nd PK save in two matches: Här är vår startelva i matchen mot IFK Värnamo! #HIF pic.twitter.com/FfKUPghT8E— Helsingborgs IF (@HelsingborgsIF) June 26, 2017 In the match against IFK Värnamo, Matt Pyzdrowski saved a penalty for the second match in a row. "I feel in shape," said the goalkeeper. (in Swedish): http://www.hif.se/news/straffraddaren-pyzdrowski-jag-kande-mig-saker/
Despite a very good season it looks like Helsingborg is about to release Matt (They only want 2 Keepers on the squad) - Not Good!! http://www.fotbolltransfers.com/site/news/80873
He was..and having a good season 2 - see above to PK's saved in last 2 games...but if you read the report out of Sweden - their #1 GK has been injured (and is now back) and they are saying that their other (3rd) keeper has beat out Matt for the #2 spot - make's no sense to me at all
This guy was on the most recent episode of Bobby Warshaw's podcast "The Play". Pretty decent episode on transfers.
The new GK isn't someone who has been injured. He's a long-time (2009-2015) former starter who just returned from a brief foray as a backup at Feyenoord. The other backup keeper is a 19 year old prospect. Since Pyzdrowski isn't preferred to Hansson and he's 30 years old, you can see why he'd be the one to lose out if they really only want two keepers on the roster. Pyzdrowski is under contract until the end of the season, so he won't be released just now, though it sounds like they'd let him go if another club were interested.
Matt has been released by Helsingborgs...which was not unexpected. Be interesting to see where he lands.
