I think you are reaching a bit with your CAF homerism. Colombia is still tops of the group, Japan can beat Greece, things aren't over.

Japan was the worst I've seen in a long time. It was like they were drugged or something pre-game, or just ate a enormous meal.

Well Colombia is less likely going to have a mental issue now; that was what was going on with Colombia when they were playing against Greece. Ivory Coast were having the same issue or at least before Drogba came.

All I know is that we're going to have an interesting match.

If the Ivorians were any good at finishing, they'd be a bit of a dark house pick like Chile. Credit to Cote D'Ivoire for dominating this game. Japan started well and owned the first 15 to 20 minutes. After that it was all Cote D'Ivoire. It's a bit embarrassing how many scoring chances they blew in the 1st half. They can't afford to do that against good teams. They finally scored in the 2nd half on 2 headers. Very nice crosses to set up both goals. They definitely looked more calm and organized when Drogba came onto the pitch. The scoreline will look flattering to Japan. They were lucky to only lose by 1. If the Ivorians had converted at least half of their scoring chances the final scoreline would have been uglier.

I still think the Ivorians are a threat to take 1st place in group C. Great day of football with the exception of the Colombia-Greece game. Greece boring as usual. Hopefully tomorrow will be good too. Ecuador vs Switzerland will be interesting. Winner of that game has the inside track to 2nd place. I expect lots of goals as well. This Swiss side likes to attack. France vs Honduras may be a bit one sided. Argentina vs Bosnia should be really good.

They were so predictable, and they didn't have the pace to do quick counter-atacks which is all you need to win agaisn't CIV since they put all their team trying headers

To be proud of the language of the colonizator.

Each country accept to have its name translate in any language. Even france. Except them.
    More royalist than the king.

Agreed. Today's game was about getting a win. Its not all over for Japan / Greece, but Colombia vs Cote d'Ivoire will be about topping the group. Beginners nerves behind them. Individually still think Cote d'Ivoire are better, but Colombia is stronger tactically.

Tell that to Latin America. It's the language that binds multiple ethnicities into a single nation. West Africa isn't like North Africa where everyone speaks Arabic or the Swahili states of the east. There are many different languages but everyone in CIV speaks French. It's not the same as allowing Françafrique to dictate your internal policy. Speaking French is what gives them some common identity.

Japan's goalkeeper should have done better with CIV's second goal...

You can't be certain of that. I'd like to see him put in earlier next game and see how many minutes he can handle.

Lol why? You'd think France wouldn't be hated since they haven't been on top in a while

Well Colombia does have a collection of young players, but playing in the Copa America has helped our more experienced players for performing in international tournaments. I feel that there's a balance of experience and youth for Colombia.

He was great in the warm up games, whether he started or came on as a sub. It a tough choice: bring him in as a gamechanger or start him to up your chances of dominating from the onset?

EDIT: Japan panicked the moment Drogba came on :)

Something about Colombia's midfield wasn't cohesive enough for me. Can't quite put my finger on it but they didn't seem very organized and didn't hold their shape very well. I fear more attack-minded teams will take advantage of that...

    I think that's subjective.......
Also the fan factor is going to play in our favor.
Regardless of that I don't want to predict anything is going to be an intense and close game

Dont reduce their identity to the only fact that they speak french.
And, as i say, even france allow other to translate its name. I think (and its my opinion) that its ridiculous to be more royalist thab tve king. More "proud the french language" than the french people.

Because of James; he may be our best player, but he had a mental breakdown and a lot of times he couldn't lead the midfielder like he typically does. Overall, Greece was annoying to face.

At least I know that the Africans and Asians won't play like them and all defensive.

Besides, don't they speak tribal languages first and French second? That's how it is in places like Senegal and Gabon...
