Sunday 11:30am ET, NBCSports Gold (due to Chelsea v. Liverpool on NBCSN) Given all the doom and gloom surrounding this latest unbeaten run across all competitions, and the fact this game has been 'relegated' to paid Internet viewing, I assume most won't be tuning in on Sunday to watch the Arsenal entertain yet another opponent they should dominate for 90 minutes but likely won't. Personally, I won't be watching because I'm not going to make the time or pay the extra money, but the only reason I would want to is potentially see Pepe get his first goal for Arsenal, at home at the Emirates. I don't expect any changes in lineup from the Watford game. John Moss is the referee. Come on you Gunners!!
John Moss, ugh. I too will be missing this one live, for family reasons. Hmm, maybe a 14 post thread might not be so easy to beat after all.
I think Emery will be in charge of Arsenal for at least the next ten games or so. I don't think there are any guarantees at all beyond that, and in fact if things don't get better than what they have been I'd expect him to be fired sometime around Thanksgiving or Christmas. This game ought to be some measure of respite for our beleaguered manager. No matter how bad we are, we ought be able to win three points here. That said, Emery is out of excuses and he quickly needs to find a lineup that works. And in contrast to last year, there are options at basically every position. It really doesn't matter who the problem children are, whether it's Mustafi, or Xhaka, or Luiz, or somebody else. We're not forced to play any of them. If Emery can't find a way to make those people work for the benefit of the club, he's got to manage the teamsheet around that. Because it's up to him to find a way to win either way.
Leno, Maitland-Niles, Luiz, Sokratis, Kolasinac, Xhaka, Guendouzi, Ceballos, Pepe, Aubameyang, Saka Subs: Martinez, Chambers, Torreira, Willock, Nelson, Ozil, Martinelli Why did Emery bother playing Özil at Watford if this game isn’t one for him? Just throw him in the bin and be done with it. At least then I wouldn’t have to watch this nonsense.
its games like these that we have to win if we are to get top 4 especially when other teams are losing
Emery has to go, and soon, not at the end of the season. We won't make top 4 with this sneering clown in charge.
Luiz ball watching as McGinn walks into the box behind him. The mental errors of our big defensive signing have literally cost us 80% of our goals this season. Tottenham blows a lead and loses, Chelsea and United are both down 2 goals, we have a cupcake opponent at home with Aston Villa and we are down a goal due to mental error?
Xhaka getting suspended for many games could actually help us significantly, but ultimately Emery is the root issue.
Its not just a feeling. I suspect the players are rudderless and they have lost all faith in emery and his concept.
Emery is a complete ********ing fraud. The list of managers I'd prefer over him at this point is hundreds of names long.
Re AMN's second yellow there is one replay that suggests the Villa player went down because he stepped on AMNs leg as he was stretching for the ball, if so it probably shouldn't even be a yellow.
I knew when i looked at the table this morning and saw the chance to go into the top 4, that Emery would screw up
