Ray-Ray V Candyman. Sheanon seemed pretty pumped to come back to PPL and prove the FO moved the wrong guy if you read the MLS article.
http://www.houstondynamo.com/news/2...eady-sunday-showdown-against-former-club-phil If defender Sheanson Williams needed any more motivation for Sunday’s match (FOX Sports 1, 6 p.m. CT), it’s his first visit back to PPL Park since being traded to the Dynamo from the Union on July 23. “Obviously spent a lot of time there, definitely gave a lot of energy and effort to that team and felt that they kind of turned their back on me,” Williams said. “So I’m looking to get back and have a good showing.”
Fabinho and Sheanon both get assists over each other because they both suck. Then some other people probably score for Houston. Union lose 3-1.
A "thrilling" 3-2 loss by the Union. This winter Curtin will say we were "so close" to the playoffs, and point to an unlucky bounce off McCarthy's forehead that lead to an own goal as the turning point in their hunt for 6th place.
Union's recent history has not been good against Houston while Kinnear was coach (5 straight shutouts). 9/20/14 - HOU 0 @ PHI 0 8/15/14 - PHI 0 @ HOU 2 4/19/14 - PHI 0 @ HOU 0 9/14/13 - HOU 1 @ PHI 0 7/6/13 - PHI 0 @ HOU 1 10/20/12 - PHI 1 @ HOU 3 9/23/12 - HOU 1 @ PHI 3 6/30/12- PHI 1 @ HOU 2 11/3/11 - PHI 0 @ HOU 1 (Playoff) 10/30/11 - HOU 2 @ PHI 1 (Playoff) 8/6/11 - HOU 1 @ PHI 1 3/19/11 - PHI 1 @ HOU 0 10/2/10 - HOU 1 @ PHI 1 5/29/10 - PHI 3 @ HOU 2 Union wins - 3 Dynamo wins - 7 Ties - 4
I'm basically going down to Chester to give a shout out to Williams and see what Ayuk can do. It still boggles my mind that the Union gave away Williams because we couldn't afford to pay him.
Whoever starts at goalie tonight seems likely to be the USOC starter with the other goalie perhaps getting to play behind the reserves at New England on Saturday in Curtin's throwaway game. Despite Blake playing well in the 2 Union games he played along with similar results in WCQ for Jamaica, he is probably on the outside looking in for the USOC game with McCarthy not having anything to do in the Quakes game and being questionable on the Crew game-winner. Assuming he goes with Local Goalie, Curtin will likely cite McCarthy's USOC success, his pro games played experience edge, his local Philly tough roots and the coach's preference to have a consistent goalie/defender five-some. He will probably overlook McCarthy's 2015 stats (49% save percentage in 10 games - 18 goals against vs. 17 saves) vs. Blake in 2015 (90 % save percentage in 2 games - 1 goal against vs. 9 saves) - for some perspective, M'Bolhi's Union stats were 57% save percentage on 13 goals against vs. 17 saves in 9 games. I will be plesantly surprised if Blake gets the start tonight.
Yeah I will go give the Candyman a warm welcome before the game. Despite my joke I do feel we miss his ability. He was great with the community stuff too.
I actually don't care who starts tonight, but I do want Blake in goal for the USOC. McCarthy's had some good moments, and I'm fine with him as a long-term backup, but we've all seen enough from him to know that the next gaffe could be any minute. Curtin taking a "hot hand" approach to decide between McCarthy and Blake would just be dead wrong.

Curtain's gone soon enough. He might as well show some loyalty to the players who got him a losing record.
McCarthy continues to start. According to the pre-game chatter, Curtin has called this one a must win.
