I must admit that really is weird/impressive how Zlatan literally owns LAFC. This isn't the star of the best team padding stats against a weak sister, either. I really hope these teams meet in the playoffs for that entertainment value alone. I'm okay with the whole rivalry week PR stuff as I think it helps the league, but this weekend saw some rather lackluster games unfortunately.
The best rivalry games aren't pretty. One of my favorite football games of all time (except for the fact that my team lost) was Alabama vs. LSU in 2011, and it was all defense. Final score of 9-6 after overtime. This round of Atlanta-Orlando was definitely not all defense, but it was just as ugly, and I spent the whole 90 minutes glued to the TV. Glad to get all three points.
Perhaps, but there's a difference between strong defensive displays and outright ineptitude on all sides. As a fan of Atlanta I was enrapt but if I was a neutral I would've been bored bored bored.
