    Republic FC (31 pts., 9-6-4 overall, 5-1-2, 3-5-2 away) v. Timbers 2 (9 pts., 2-16-3 overall, 1-9-1 @ home)

Sunday, 2:00 p.m. kick-off at the Providence Park
    • Television: CW 31
    • Radio: none
    Last five:
    Republic W-W-D-W-W
    Vancouver L-L-D-W-L

Do not p!ss this one away, AGAIN. See those two victories for Portland?, one of those was at the Murph. We can't allow 2017 Timbers to become our 2015 Monarchs. Especially not with us looking to climb into 4th place and a first round home game.

Today and next week against Reno are big games.

We had more yellow cards than shots on goal....and looked out of sync for much of the match. Lucky to walk out of Providence Park with all the points.

I have to disagree - playing on a plastic pitch - on the road - unfamiliar vibes - IMHO Sac-Town showed their class - very unlucky to not get two or three goals - BTW I absolutely love the left side of the attack - Kiffe & Blackwood are the main cogs for Sac-town - in the first half I was scared by that crazy tackle from Bill Tuiloma that took out two Republic players including Blackwood - I thought Blackwood was done - btw on that free kick is when Sac-Town scored when Blackwood was off the pitch - I am happy for the 'W' & let's be real here - Chaney flop got Hanson sent off ;)

That was an outrageous flop. Funny, though.

It looks like we laid back the whole time to absorb pressure and counter. I don't know, maybe we did so soon after taking the lead but it seemed like the entire game. If that's how we're going to play than Caesar needs to spend a lot more time on the field. Our midfield seemed to be missing it's aggressiveness and defensive bite.

OTOH, the defense was great and Portland had a hard time doing anything productive in the final third.
