Tonight's stats. For some reason, USL's game stats don't include assists, so I'm assuming Cam's goal is unassisted. I'm a little surprised by our long passes number. I didn't think we had that many. Our passing accuracy numbers were pretty good last week, too.
All-in-all, an ugly win but sometimes taking three points on the road is just that way. Our CB's need to be more careful with their back and square passes. We don't need TWO Derek Forans. Cohen was solid except for that one instance of gross misjudgment that a better team would have easily converted. Hall went out early in the 2nd half. It didn't look serious, but Moffat is more than a capable backup. If one thing in his year in KC did benefit Cam, it's that he's really bulked up. He'll be tough to push off the ball. He may end up being a capable hold-up forward.
Smash and grab, baby. Nice to get a result when the other team has (generally) the run of play. One thing I will say - I VERY much like what OCSC is doing down in Irvine. That park looks like a winner, probably perfect for what OCSC has now become as the development team for LAFC. Thank all that is holy that they have finally moved off of that cow pasture over at UCI.
Mixed feelings... we won but did not look good, and played really defensive, negative football for most of the game. I feel like I’m watching the mentality of a mediocre team hoping to steal points, rather than a confident team expecting to bully another side. This is very different from prior years, I can’t help but think how much Elliot’s mentality and the tightening of the purse strings has had an effect on things. Cohen still MotM, he’s looking good! Wish I could say more about a field player.
Defender @Mitch_Taintor has been named to the @USL Team of the Week for his performance in Republic FC's 1-0 win against Orange County SC. Congrats, Mitch! 🙌📝 | https://t.co/Gv2RtuWLM8 pic.twitter.com/aQMGfYm26y— Sacramento Republic FC (@SacRepublicFC) March 27, 2018
If you want to see Cam when goal-of-the-week, he could use a few more votes. https://t.co/6SPlduR84j All business in Week 2 👊. Only one can take home the #USL Goal of the Week, presented by @select_america.VOTE → https://t.co/6SPlduR84j pic.twitter.com/CToW08w8ed— USL Championship (@USLChampionship) March 26, 2018 Edit: Goal-of-the-week worthy, IMO.
