My wife is working OT tonight, so I'm out for this one. Hanging out and watching it on TV with the little ones over a pizza sounds pretty rad to me, though.

Yeah. You're right. That's weird. It's like they just stopped trying.

Aaaaand we lose Fernando again, courtesy of Pogatetz being a jerk.

Ayuk won't be happy about CJ stealing his celebration, haha.

Andrew "Defensive Workrate" Wenger almost cost this team a goal by completely whiffing on a tackle and leaving the left flank abandoned. Stand your man up there, don't dive in. At least he was working hard . . .

It's all huff and puff, isn't it? Winning possession but not doing much with it. Play much too compact. Wenger having his best game in a while.

Place looks empty, pitch playing like an ice rink.

This season could stabilize if they had anything resembling competent speed in attack.

Marquez is well on his way to becoming my favorite player. Which all but guarantees he'll be lost in an upcoming expansion draft.

Send Nando back to France. I'm sure he's competent-but he's a slow poacher. Even the galoot the Crew are playing can get to balls on the run-as he showed Sylvestre. If you are going to play with vertical wing-forwards (one of whom looks to have lost a step and a half)..........you need a target with mobility. Since his release from "the Winehouse" Ponger has done nothing to deserve a seat. The attack clearly functions better with his agility. Once again; only injury prevents Jimbo from costing the club points. I don't understand why it's so hard to manage your squad when already you have so few options.........

All they need is one more to fall before Yuk/Jimmy have to get PT...........

Union now above the red line, although granted that everyone has played more games.

I'm just... not sure how to feel.

I want to be happy, but this team has disappointed so many times before.

payback........etc. ( thanks Burhalter for not starting Kamara )

Mobility + Mistakes (opponent) = More joy for Philly.

Until about minute 80, was shocked to see Chaco going through a bout of the lazies. Guy had numerous unmarked chances in dangerous areas, but constantly chose to blindly lob balls to nobody. Take a dribble, take a shot why don't ya............ The only 2 creators they have choose to pass from deep in the last 2/3. You can't have the most forward of those trying to run the game from a rocking chair ! Didn't matter tonight-except for maybe converting a few of those gimmes and helping the confidence of your teammates.........

re: Wenger. Second half got too stretched for fair comment, but wanted to take a sec. to say that over the last 3 games he's been better on aggregate. I never considered him to be a big scorer-my frustration rose from his lack of involvement more than anything else. Even in the first 45-he was much better. Paid particular attention to how he was willing to come central to outlet L against the Crew press. He hasn't been in games like that mentally much since #1. It is a good sign I think. Should he even luck into one come Sat. I'm feeling they're going to land in bunches before he cools off again for a stretch. It's all about confidence right now.

    Three Stars:

*** : Sapong -sub turned the game. If he had started over the weekend Union would be riding a 4-game W Streak.

** : Carroll -his engine is all but gone but positionally was immense in the first half-when they needed it-and solid throughout

    * (MotM) Marquez- seriously; for a guy who wasn't drafted........what the hell more do you want right now ?

Still a firm believer that success is built from the back. Sylvestre & a back 4 that has been solid has given everyone else confidence to move forward.

Imagine where this team would be if it weren't handicapped by a 500K hole in net for the first 1/4 of the season.

And also glad to see BC7 finally getting props from those who constantly beat on the guy for no reason. My post history can prove that I'm the O.G. BC7 hipster!

whattagame! Great to see the Union get three with little drama for a change. Wenger did well, BC7 did well, our possession was off the charts, and we got three!!!! crowd was a bit sparse i think they announced 15.5 or so, that had to include the STH no shows because no way there were 15K in the stands. Could not have been turnstile attendance. 9 points in 4 games, when should have been at least 10...I'll take it. moving in the right direction.

Wow, did some other guys slip on Union jerseys or did someone slip something into the Crew's water? Columbus was awful. The Union actually strung pass together - impressive.

I don't think I was imagining it but it was nice to see the team try to get Wenger going. After the second goal you could see everyone trying to set him up. He had a pretty strong game. Maybe he's working his way out of his funk.

With the game Saturday woulda thought that Curtin would be earlier with the subs. Hopefully, the team didn't use up all the gas in the tank for this game. Would like to see them build on this game for Saturday.

And now the etiquette question. At the end of the game Le Toux grabbed the ball and kicked it into our section, guy caught it - does he have to give it back? Isn't that like a football player, throwing his touchdown ball into the stands?
Pretty much everyone was yelling for him to keep it. He threw it back.

What are you suppose to do? Game is over. It wasn't part of a play. The player meant to kick it into the stands
