Saturday, June 29, 7:30 pm @ Reno 1868 FC Greater Nevada Field TV: KQCA My58, Estrella TV Sacramento, ESPN+ Watch Party: Waterman Brewing in Elk Grove No official game preview available, but I though this was newsworthy from the USL site..... Republic FC forwards Stefano Bonomo and Cameron Iwasa have both been named to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 16. This marks Iwasa's second time to be named to the TOTW in 2019 after being named the Player of the Week in Week 3. Both forwards had outstanding performances in Republic FC's 6-0 rout against Tulsa Roughnecks FC. Iwasa brought his USL Championship goal count to nine after scoring twice against Tulsa, putting him fifth in the race for the USL Championship Golden Boot. Iwasa also had the assist on Bonomo's first goal of the night. Bonomo notched his own brace and his first goals in the 2019 USL Championship season.
(edited from the SRFC Website) ______________________________________________________________________________ Preview Reno 1868 FC (7-4-5, 26 pts) host SRFC after defeating Portland Timbers 2 on Wednesday night in Oregon, 2-1. With the win, 1868 FC leaps up to fourth place in league standings with 26 points. Republic FC’s regional rivals will be without their all-time leading goal scorer, Brian Brown, due to international duty with Jamaica for the Concacaf Gold Cup. However, Reno has a handful of other attacking threats to complete a fairly lethal offensive front. Forward Corey Hertzog has seven goals and four assists, while Reno as a whole has four different players with three assists or more. Head-to-Head Despite never having beaten Reno 1868 FC at home in league play, Republic FC have had success against their regional rivals in the past on the road. As for the all-time matchup in league play, Republic FC is 1-4-1 against them. _________________________________________________________________________________ No injuries reported at this time.
Meh, seen more energy in an opium den. The stats don't lie......we are an average team...seems like its two steps forward and one step (sometimes two) back with this team.
90+ minutes of DGAS footy played on a DGAS field located in the middle of a DGAS city. Glad I didn't go.
