It looks like we will have a lineup change tonight: Sacramento’s Danny Barrera has been suspended one match by the Independent Disciplinary Panel for Saturday’s match against Reno 1868 FC on Saturday. Barrera was cautioned during the match. He will be suspended for this Saturday’s home match against Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2. ICS speculates the league judged his two footed tackle that earned him a yellow as being the reason.
Look for me in the grandstands. I'm the one with shoes melted to the aluminum and Wayfarers dripping off my nose. Lol
Blackwood looked tired late in the first half...but he played quite a bit on Wednesday. Casarez upped his game with Barrera out. I think we are starting to hit our stride in certain areas. These are the matches you have to win to move up the ladder, and we did. Half the teams ahead of us have 2 or more games in hand, so we need to start racking up 3 point games. Let's build on this against RGV, and create some fear in the western conference!
Buckle is my MOTM. Subbing in DTS and Caesar for Gisse and Ochoa at the half paid immediate dividends. Not that Ochoa was playing poorly, but immediately Caesar gave Vancouver fits running onto the long balls that Chaney couldn't get to in the 1st half. DTS changed the game - defensively. He stepped into passing lanes and intercepted passes in a sprint towards Vancouver's half several times. The formation change from a 4-3-3 to a 4-4-2 at the half flipped the run of play to our favor. Kiffe was his usual solid, maybe even better. They barely even tried to attack his side in the second half. Hall was very disruptive but also took care of the ball (much better anyway). Gisse was completely ineffective. He should never start a game over DTS. Agree with Fortune, Casarez stepped it up. He's played pretty well the last several games, I'd say. If Blackwood had a better first touch the offense would benefit immensely. This
Great summary. Spot on about Gisse. I died when Tyler kicked it too hard and gave it to the keeper on that counter 1v1 opportunity- and an open guy on far post. Pretty sure it wasn't a sellout. But good crowd.
