You made a sarcastic remark about people assuming Morgan would run away with the Golden Boot. I’m saying that it’s not surprising Kerr caught up since Morgan didn’t play and Jamaica had already allowed two players to grab hat tricks against them. Morgan would have found it more difficult, but scoring two goals like Lloyd would have given her a stronger hold on the Golden Boot. (Endler has coincidentally allowed four goals by the same player in a recent match, and van de Donk isn’t exactly the most prolific goal scorer for her NT.) If someone guessed Morgan would grab five against Thailand, good on them. Going into the tournament on a mini drought (overblown by some people) and having never scored more than 3 in a match at professional or international level, it was a bit of a surprise for me.
