US will win this tournament, won’t they
Julie Ertz is ridiculously amazing though

Sweden will be another opponent but
I can see someone beating them on penalties

Well, all of the jinxing did work. :ninja:

Also, I want people to credit me for having called Endler's outstanding performance! :p

Carli was being too greedy and it bit her in the ass. She’s good for missing a PK, so we shouldn’t be shocked...:whistling:

I didn’t watch this game, but I’m shocked it was only 3-0. Did the US let up or something?

Crossbar, posts, and Endler kept the scoreline down

LOL! I think USA hit the frame like 5 times. Endler had a couple amazing saves.
Press will be seeing Endler in her nightmares.

I really liked Press in this game. But reading the US women's forum, she seems a divisive player among the fans.

I think most fans like her. The problem with some fans is with where Jill Ellis has her playing on the field (i.e., position where she could be most effective).

    I can see that.

Must be nice to have this kind of depth in a player selection.

Lloyd needs stay on bench, she is good but not ok as part of the starting 11.

Not sure about that, but in the past years it seemed to me that US fans tended to divide in two parties: pro-Morgan and pro-Press. But I could be wrong, since I don't follow the US boards since long enough.

    "Endler"

I think it is fair to say every second German citizen could play keeper for every other country... and decently so

One thing I liked about today's match was the fan support. The stadium was packed with fans (about 45,000?). It was essentially a home match for USA.

As I mentioned on the other thread, if there's no doubt that US fans were the majority of the attendance, there had to be a lot of Chilean supporters also, at least judging from the loud chants of "Chile, Chile!" coming from the standings from time to time and, especially, from the Chilean anthem sung "a cappella" at the beginning of the match.

I didn't hear the "Chile, Chile" chant, only the continuation of the anthem after the instrumental portion ended, but I assume you are right.
I was just looking at the colors worn by fans in the stands.
Seemed like a sea of red, blue, and white.

I was thinking the exact same thing when JP Delacamera (Fox’s USA play-by-play announcer) talked about all the red, white, and blue flags.
Bleu, blanc, et rouge seem to be pretty popular in France.

Thank goodness the Netherlands chooses Oranje to be THEIR primary kit color!
