Today's the day, you ugly buggers.

I note that we are playing Real Monarchs. So who's gonna miss the PK in this one?

I'm fired up for the season opener. Glorious conditions and excitement in the air. I demand nothing less than the boys giving it everything they've got.

I am hoping to see some good footie with Bijev & Blackwood playing together. Their play should open space for Iwasa. I strongly believe that Sac-Town is best footie club in Nor Cal.

Definitely not a pk, but one can forgive the referee for getting it wrong given the motion of both players.

    A good performance overall.

    Good:
    • Field conditions
    • Tailgating, uniforms, lots of "little" things
    • Defensive shape and physicality
    • Getting a late goal against a quality bunkered opponent.

    Bad:
    • Tyler Blackwood. Dude was utterly lost out there. Missed a wide-open 16-yarder, and was moving like he had concrete in his shoes. If Werner plays more than 45', SRFC wins this game easily.
    • Cameron Iwasa. I get he wants to be the #10, but if he's put in a #7 position, he has to play the #7. Don't sulk, and put some touch on your damn passes.
    • Broadcast quality. Sorry, our announcers suck ass, and the audio pickup from the stadium was for crap all night.

    Ugly:
    • That PK call.
I hate RSL and it's punk-ass USL affiliate. For whatever reason, they seem to get the best of us, even when we boss them around the field for 75 of the 90 minutes. It is well we got the late EQ, otherwise I would have been ranting rantily this morning.

On the Tyler Blackwood take, I understand because he missed that wide open shot. I would say give the lad some time to fit back in.

on you Iwasa take, I 100% agree. I understand that Elliot wants to have Stefano Bonomo playing at the same time, but I would rather see Keven Alemán play in the hole underneath both Iwasa & Bonomo. It's a long season so I will have a bit of patience. Proper performance by the fans that braved the elements. Match did sound loud on TV.
