down 1 nil early....leave a man unmarked 10 yards from goal...right in centre of goal on a corner and sometimes you will be unhappy with the outcome
We had plenty of chances Vazquez headed over, Morrow and Cooper hit the post but that turf looked like it's what beat TFC the players couldn't read the ball at all. There's a reason why the Revs haven't lost at home and can't win on the road and it's because they only know how to play on turf.
That and the fact that a lot of teams don't want to risk playing their star players on the turf, so NE always faces lighter squads at home, but full0strength teams on the road. TFC were clearly having a number of problems with the turf - they were slipping on it andhad trouble making passes. It'll be completely different when we play them at BMO
For me it wasn't that we lost, it was how we lost. You can blame turf, loss of Bradley and Jozy, fatigued, etc. but that doesn't explain how so many players failed to communicate defensively. It was like watching TFC 2015 again where we make one bad pass and the other team is off to the races. There are a lot of things you can pick at that went wrong. We had too many guys not getting back defensively, too many guys trying to dribble into triple coverage, and too many spoiled scoring changes. If there is no improvement in those areas, we will get blown out by New England again in three weeks.
If you want to make these stinker games more fun, everytime Cooper dribbles at a defender and loses the ball, one drink. If he dribbles into multiple defenders and loses the ball, two drinks.
After Koevermans, I consider it a win if we come away from Foxboro without anyone getting a career-ending injury.
