That would be great. I wouldn't have to rely on shitty streams and my inconsistent internet connection anymore.
I can find no confirmation of that online....the current TSN deal does end at the end of this season.....but that would seem a very big undertaking for the CBC to take on.
CBC did the broadcasting for the first couple of years before they lost it to TSN. Wouldn't it be some sort of competitive bidding process?
That, and the fact that CBC stated they would not bid on any pro leagues' broadcasting contracts again after losing the NHL to Rogers.
And they just asked this week for $400MM additional annual subsidy from the taxpayer so they can go commercial fee...they can't be seen to be using this money to bid against private sector competition for rights fees.
