I'm so confused. How is KSA drawing Australia and thrashing UAE? They were so bad when we played them and now they are top of the group. Has anyone been watching their matches?

I've been thinking about this and doing some research about other Iraqi coaches. The only two Iraqi coaches that ever get brought up by the media are Radhi and Shahad. But how come they don't talk about Basim Qasim? Looking at his career, he's been successful almost everywhere he's been. He's won multiple trophies with Shorta in the 90s/00s, he won the double when he was managing in the Yemeni League, he managed Duhok to their first ever league title in 2009/10, he managed Zakho to their highest ever league position in 2010/11, he almost finished in the top 3 with Shorta just a year after they almost got relegated, he got Duhok to the final round in 2014/15 despite having no finances and having to sell their best players, last season he won the league with Zawraa without losing a single match and he got them to the cup final, and now he is taking Jawiya possibly to the AFC Cup final! He's been managing for almost three decades, and he played in the 1986 World Cup for Iraq.

Like why does no-one talk about this guy? Am I missing something lol. Any of you guys know anything else about him and why he has never been considered for Iraq job? He seems like such a good candidate.

Good fitness. Their players can maintain the full 90 mins, which is needed in qualification campaigns like this.

Long ball? They dont play the long ball. (maybe under Yahya Alwan but this side does not play the long ball as often) They sit back but it was against Japan in Japan, do you expect Iraq to go out and attack Japan.

Against Thailand they sat back because of a lack of fitness and because the Thais forced the game in the first few minutes of the 2nd half and this has been a problem for a number of years, look at how many goals Iraq conceded in last twenty mins over the past 2/3 years, and this goes back to the Iraqi league.
