Not much information yet, but the MASL2 has a new Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/m2arenasoccer/
Looks like The Colorado Blizzard will be a part of M2 and will play a 12 game season. Also a replay of the USA vs Mexico game in Denver, on the link below. http://www.9news.com/sports/us-mens-arena-soccer-team-takes-on-mexico-in-denver/477964046
Okay, so this is where we stand so far with the MASL2, now also being referred to as M2 for 2017-18: 12-game season (6 home, 6 away) Games run from December to March Confirmed Teams: Colorado Blizzard - press conference https://livestream.com/accounts/671893/events/7735431/videos/163272052 Chicago Mustangs - video message from President/Head Coach Armando Gamboa https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1629270887119539 Rumored Teams: Arizona Impact - YouTube promotional video for tryouts (thanks powerplay13) Cincinnati Swerve - press release from 2016; nothing mentioned recently http://cincinnatiswerve.com/2016/10...nce-first-3-players-for-the-2016-2017-season/ Houston Hotshots - only reference can be found here https://www.alignable.com/league-city-tx/houston-hotshots# otherwise, team website and Facebook page has since been shut down If anyone has more information on other potential teams per team websites, Facebook pages, YouTube videos, etc., please go ahead and post them here.
Add the Upstate Strikers (Anderson, SC) to M2 http://www.independentmail.com/stor...ndoor-soccer-civic-center-anderson/729299001/ Civic Center of Anderson
Upstate Strikers Website: http://www.upstatestrikers.com/ Facebook: www.facebook.com/upstatestrikersfc/
Well, maybe not... http://www.independentmail.com/stor...fusion-over-its-league-affiliation/735239001/ Apparently this is what happens when the team puts out misleading information and this poster assumes affiliation to M2 based on their start date. The Upstate Strikers will play as an "independent team" for the 2017-18 season.
The Chicago Mustangs beat the Milwaukee Wave 5-4 in ot in an exhibition game in Hoffman Estates IL. Mustangs scored in the last minute of the ot.
Heard on Twitter that Baja California (Tijuana?) may have a MISL 2 team. But because there's no substantial proof, I won't suggest it as fact.
Well if you are saying they will get soccer players not good enough to play in Europe, MLS or indoor teams that can pay them more then yes.
No, I am saying that every woebegone franchise that can't survive in the MASL is going to end up here and it's just going to be a collection of junk franchises, not an incubator.
this is the #4 Google search result for MASL2, behind one for the Twitter hashtag #MASL2, the Wiki article for the MASL, and the MASL's official site. that isn't very promising.
So the M2 Facebook page just got their first two teams listed for the 2017/18 season...the Arizona Impact and the Las Vegas Knights. We should not confuse these Knights with the Las Vegas Golden Knights (NHL) or the Las Vegas Lights (new USL club) or, I guess, the Las Vegas Legends. The Knights Facebook page has not had a post since January 2013 and "their" website goes to an indoor soccer facility. http://www.m2soccer.com/stats#/374/teams?season_id=861
That's good branding having a AAA team with it's own separate identity (unlike the miserably named Sockers2 who will also be in the league), but it's unfortunate another Knights moved into town. Their motto could be "But aLas, we are not Golden".
M2 Teams for 2017-18 Colorado Blizzard Ontario Fury II Arizona Impact Colorado Inferno Las Vegas Knights Chicago Mustangs San Diego Sockers II Waza Flo http://www.m2soccer.com/stats#/374/teams?season_id=861
This can't be the complete list, surely? Aside from Chicago, the Waza's nearest team is in Colorado? How are those travel costs going to work?
