Indoor soccer doesn't need 4v4 to settle overtime. There have been maybe 10 shootout games in 10 years.

Points system might be interesting, if you do it where a win -3 points ( regardless if its regulation or OT) and loss 0 points. so the max points a team could get is 72. Hockey differentiating between OT and shootout losses is one of the issues i have with it, along with the lack of tiebreaker games if teams are tied on points.
Hockey doesn't differentiate between OT and SO losses. Each is worth 1 point. And an entire additional game to break a tie when you play 82 and play everyone at least twice?
the World Hockey Association had tiebreaker games, so its not THAT farfetched. besides settling things on the ice is better than breaking a tie via.. say opponents winning percentage.
I just hate that the media (and my dad) say that a team with a 32-26-9 record is above .500 when they have 32 wins and 35 losses.
Hockey is a strange sport when it comes to the loss system. Frankly, I'd rather there be ties in the regular season (ties were eliminated as part of rule changes prior to the 2005-06 season in favor of shoot-outs), as it's absurd that there must be a decisive winner during the regular season, meaning a team has a column for wins... and then three different loss columns. But two of those loss columns mean they at least earned a point for making it go to overtime, yet it showed how they lost... but they still lost.

Any chance they will get out streaming the season opener live any time soon??? Judging by the massive amounts of posts here on BS, not sure anyone cares. [emoji15]
It's indoor soccer. Of course it's quite the happening. If you wait long enough, I think you can talk to the tumbleweed that occasionally goes by, but only if you're nice enough. Recently, the league's site released the preseason rosters: https://www.maslsoccer.com/preseason-rosters What amazes me (or not, given this is the team in question) is that the Turlock Cal Put Lipstick On a Pig Express only have seven players on their team total right now, way below the 14 men & 2 goalies for the regular season, meaning if two guys get hurt, will they play a man down or forfeit? It appears that the team likely will get to that total by just dragging a bunch of men off the street by asking "you wanna play soccer? We won't pay you but there is travel", and even so, none of the men assigned right now have been signed to the club.
I can confidently say Turlock will sign at least 20 players and they will probably be at least marginally better than last year.
I'm not denying they'll get their players. After all, it seems that the club operates as a "best of" from the various rec leagues that play in the Turlock center that they play in with one or two semi pro talent they try (and usually fail, be it visa issues or money disputes) to bring in to look like they are attempting to field a competent team. The issue is just that; the team is a menagerie of rec league players that compete against actual talent. It's not like the MASL is filled to the brim with superstars, but given the how and where Turlock gets theirs as part of the community, it often is puzzling that the group chooses to stay sequestered within instead of trying to explore, but I dunno. I really need to stop it with reasoning with this team. Also; the only team they beat more than once last season in El Paso is gone, and unless Sonora & Mesquite built their teams poorly, I don't see them going above 2 wins.
When does the regular season start? San Diego already has a loss in the standings. Had the season started? Masltv has nothing yet
