OK, with Eryk Williamson and Gordon Wild leaving early and LOI Day around the corner, seems a good time to start a new thread on Maryland. Oh yes, and asst. coach Brian Rowland just became the boss at Temple. Also gone are seniors George Campbell and Jake Rozhansky. That is four quality players gone, but in terms of quantity it really isn't much. A lot of good people coming back. Dayne St. Clair was a well better than average goalie; most of the defense in front of him except Campbell will be back. Biggest problem is who is going to score? Williamson (6 g., 5 a.), Rozhansky, and Wild were the 1,2, & 3 goal scorers and they didn't exactly light up the scoreboard last year; leading returning scorer is Sebastian Elney (5 goals, 2 assists) than Amar Sejdic (3 g., 4 a.) and nobody else had more than 2 goals or 2 assists. Does anybody have any info on incoming players?
Bummer to lose Williamson and Wild, but that's the nature of the game sometimes. Per TopDrawer, here are some incoming recruits: FW Justin Gielen from DeMatha (MD) FW Brayan Padilla from FC Dallas Academy DF Alessandro Milesi from Shattuck-St. Mary's (MN) DF Nick Richardson from Baltimore Celtic SC
I’m not upset at all about Wild leaving. The team was better without him on the field most of the year.
Gielen is the real deal. Washington Post POY, 52 career goals at DeMatha, and Lord knows we need people who can score.
Maryland adds two goalies to the recruiting class: Russell Shealy Atlanta United Craig Eichelberger Baltimore Armour

xpowerout, thanks for posting these results. Nothing has been posted on umterps.com Richmond Kickers' site indicates they beat Maryland 1-0 in their friendly. No details given.

http://www.dbknews.com/2018/09/04/maryland-mens-soccer-virginia-draw-score-final-result-scoreless/ "For the first time in BigSoccer history, the Terps thread started a season without a post in their opening three games, ...*" Zero goals, zero posts ... Washington 2-0 Maryland (bad result) Maryland 0-0 Stanford (fair, but disappointing) Virginia 0-0 Maryland (neutral site, still disappointing) Maryland v UCLA (this Friday) ++++++++++++++++++++ * I took the liberty of making three substitutions.
From the article, "Still, the offense's morale is high after recording 15 shots in a double-overtime game on two days of rest." While I don't have the Maryland, College Park education, Stanford was played on Friday and Virginia was on Monday. By my calculations and confirmed by NASA at the Goddard Space Center, Isn't that 3 days rest?
