Yeah that's really odd to list a player on a comp report who never signed on the dotted line. Sounds like "cutting before you measure 9x" to me, which is a no no in that org.

I'm disappointed to not be able to comment in this thread, "welcome, Marvin!" But on the positive side, since Burns' strength is the "almost" deal, I wonder if we could make an Almost Revs Best XI? :D

Other teams sign players, we keep hearing about how our team is trying. That's all the same right?

Good riddance Bennie...the bolded part is all I need to know about you and it showed. People wonder why he isn't on the USMNT and that, in a nutshell, is his issue.

Our front office continues to be a total, absolute joke. The Union just signed a guy who had options in multiple countries and was on the Swiss WC team in Brazil....albeit a 30 year old midfielder....but come on!! Every time we turn around nowadays, another club is signing a very good player. And we don't even get any real sniffs at all.

    Just so freaking embarassing....

Eh, I'd rather he played his ass off the whole time he was here, but honestly, I can't blame him for losing motivation. If your managers and coworkers don't put in the effort, it's going to wear off on you. He doesn't appear to be a leader by nature, not many are. He went to SKC and was around guys who busted his ass and what do you know, he's one of the top players in MLS now.

Thanks, Repped for posting that since I do not follow on twitter.

Without knowing who (like Chicago with Drogba or Sporting with Dos Santos), this is non-news to me.

We have no idea where the "close" breaks down.

I believe firstshirt is on to the Rev's definition of "close" with his scenario earlier:

Is our brand a black fly in MLS' chardonnay? Will a SSS announcement be a death row pardon a minute too late?

But the REAL metaphor with this FO/ownership is "Mr. Play It Safe." They are afraid to fly (or write checks), that's for sure.

The thing is, who's Mr. Play It Safe?

Is it Jonathan Kraft, who lacks the knowledge to hire a Burns replacement so is living with the devil he knows?

Or is it Burns who, as long as he doesn't fail too spectacularly, gets to keep his job?

    Mutually assured mediocrity?

After the naked guy on the plane that they had to tackle, you might be afraid to fly, also.:p:p

The answer is yes. Or, if you'd prefer, all of the above.
